Is Son Of Beast ever going to run three trains?

I haven't seen the trains in person since the retrofitting, but that's what it is, a retrofitting. There was an article about it in Amusement Today a while back. They talked about the advantages of replacing OTSR with lapbars. There was no mention of new trains anywhere.

Sept. 11th 2001, Slayer released God Hates Us All. The song "Disciple" uncannily describes the events of that day, as well as the anthrax letters that followed.

Since I was a member of the Flight of Fear crew in 2001, I will comment in saying that our crew worked extremely hard to improve the ride's capacity BUT the GP in all honesty set us back horribly! The GP has a hard time understanding directions and understanding where exactly to hook the strap. So, we had to personally strap about 3/4's of every train. We can't help that. Anyway, the strap does actually have a purpose. Though maybe not a big purpose but in some cases its good we have them. And Jeff, I am not taking it personal or anything......but if you call us a "sad crew," well then I remind you that Kings Island is hiring for 2002, and if you think your better, please come join us. We do work hard and take pride in what we do, but not to hear comments like yours.

Actually some articles I have read about the FoF train switch are calling it a Rolling Stock Change.

Shaggy:  I know what you mean, day in and day out of the same question over and over, people trying to buckle their seatbelt to the one next to them, people putting their feet over the foot restrain and having to unlock the train and fix it and recheck all the bars, also i also have worked the ride when it did have the OTSR's and i guess its the same as people getting their arm stuck in between the seat and the restraint and unlock it to fix it.

When FOF had the regular clip for a couple of months before they were replaced with the buckle type thing, people would secure the strap to their belt loop.

Good Point "PKI Rulz"   Jeff I was very upset when you called the crew sad, if the GP would actually follow directions it would help us out, our crew is always striving to do their best.

The strap does have a purpose, its a form of measurement, if the strap doesnt buckle you cant ride its that simple.

You guys must really have long, limber arms.

I was never taught how to pat myself on the back like that when I worked there :-)

I'll admit to that one, however the 1999 20th Anniversary Beast crew really rocked.

Well, wadda ya know, my arms are long and limber after all ;-)

FOF,  They are not new trains dude,   Jeff told me that they had just got the third one back a week prior to The Golden Ticket awards day.   The did not however put it into rotation for a few weeks after that,  Then they retrofited the Belt from a clip to a seatbelt thing.   At one point in time one train had the hooks and the other had the belt buckle.
Chuck, who says what you are seeing over in the Monorail area is the Fourth train which is used for peices if needed.

Well in all honesty then they should set up a test car or test seat cutaway at the entrance the Q   The guy doing the stick checks could assist with this if somone apears too (Long Legged or big in the midriff to ride)   It would also show how to buckle the strap.
Chuck, who really thinks the only reason the strap is there is to prevent a Mindbender type incident.

They are the same trains... you're misinformed. There would be no point in building new trains from the ground up. Trust me when I say I know the people involved in the fabrication of the new restraints, and it is a retrofit.

Let me rephrase regarding the crew... there aren't enough people. Any time you have tricky restraints, you need at least four people, six if you're dealing with four-across seating.

Ive been sent to FOF a few times and it was daunting to say the least.  Comming from a ride that 3 people can do it quickly to a ride where you need atleast 5 to do a quick job. Its an odd one. They ARE the same trains too!

In all fairness Jeff, the GP is terrible at listening to directions, not panicing and loading speedily.  It may reflect poorly on the crew because trains do not launch as quickly as we would like.  However the tedious and frustrating process of restraining people who arent used to riding the coaster becomes very draining and does have it's effect on the crew.
In every train, on every coaster there is always at least one GP that holds the cycle up.  It is the law of nature.
Shaggy

Can't they just hold up all THESE folks and run one train every fifteen minutes....call it the "train of the damned" or something.  Maybe hold a class to the side for those folks who can't pay attention to the voices that are NOT from inside their heads.  After they've had 15 minutes of "special attention", they should be able to load without NEARLY so much delay.  The (other) ride-ops get a break from these people, and dispatch times would improve greatly...use the "parent swap" areas for "rider education class"!  Sorry, I am aware this won't happen, but I should be allowed to dream...
And, in fairness to the *GP*, the train does sit kind of low in the station, and it IS a little hard to see....but can someone PLEASE tell me what's so confusing about "push down, then pull up"...

*** This post was edited by rollergator on 2/24/2002. ***

The push down part.

Trust me.

I've seen people bellow 'I am pushing down', all while most definitely pulling up.

I would like to ask a question, while you are waiting in the station, waiting to get on about onw or two trains away, don't you pay attention to whats going on, it seems to me you would see the people in front of you buckling their seatbel, instead of saying when you get on guess we dont use the seatbelt, after the ride-op buckles it for you and then takes it off.

The last thing that John Q. Public is thinking about when waiting in line is the proper way to use the restraints.  He's more than likely thinking about not losing his lunch, or what he's going to go on next.  Or more than likely, he's really standing there just thinking about sex, lol.

If the shoe fits, find another one.

I find really funny is when people try there hardest to pull the lapbar down when they havent been unlocked to do so.
