Is Lo-Q dead?

Robb: I know SFNE has some sort of Virtual Queing system.

I think the only SFparks which don't have Lo-Q yet are SFA & SFMM.

They were originally planning to implement the system for 03 at these two parks but for some reason that deal has been postponed for now while the company tries to get the system up & running correctly at the other SF parks.

"There *is* a *slight* flaw in the system; I think they estimate the line on "theoretical" or "expected" capacity, so the line ends up being slightly longer than the Lo-Q wait, but I dont know how you would factor in fat people who dont fit, kids losing their basketballs and other "random assness" (TM - NewYorkSuperman) that wears down capacity."

This was really my only problem with the Lo-Q system and during my trip to SFOG last year it was more than just a few minutes off. I have grown to accept the fact that this sort of thing will probably exist at most large parks, I just think they need to be more honest about it. See a small excerpt from my TR (pasted below...hopefully it will not look wierd because of formatting) for my thoughts on the issue.

Lo-Q: As I mentioned, we were not going to utilize this that weekend
because the crowds were so light, but because Mindbender was down to
one train (can someone place an order with Wieland, already?) and
since it is my favorite coaster in the park we bought it. In a
nutshell, the problem I have with Lo-Q is that it does not do what it
says. The brochure reads "Lo-Q lets you reserve your ride so you
don't have to stand in the queue line while you wait. The system is
FAIR to everybody. Guests with a Q-bot wait the same amount of time
for each ride as other guests but don't have to stand bored in line
while waiting."

The simple fact is that on Sunday we did not wait in the "virtual
line" for many rides the same amount of time as the people waited in
actual lines. Some examples:
Great Gasp: Lo-Q wait- 20 minutes, Actual Wait- 40-50 minutes
Mindbender: Lo-Q wait- 20-30 minutes, Actual Wait- 40-50 minutes
Monster Plantation: Lo-Q wait- 0 minutes, Actual Wait- 30-40 minutes
Georgia Scorcher: Lo-Q wait- 5-10 minutes, Actual Wait- 20-35 minutes

Some of the other rides were shorter in the Lo-Q line, but the
difference was not as dramatic as those mentioned above and I will
admit that a few of the virtual queues, such as Superman and Batman,
were almost exactly how long we would have waited if in line. I have
grown to (begrudgingly) accept that buying one's way to the front of
the line is now standard practice at theme parks. But, I really have
a problem with Six Flags claiming that their program holds a virtual
space when I saw with my own eyes that this is not true. I believe
that the people buying tickets who do not purchase Lo-Q have a right
to know that their line will move slower because of preferred
treatment."

What about SFGam and SFKK? We're visiting those two parks in May, and how we plan our visit would change based on if they have Lo-Q or not. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks.

I'm curious about both of those parks as well, actually. Not that I expect SFKK to be horribly crowded the Friday of SRM...
