Is anyone going to build another giga?

I agree with you, Enigma13, but I think it will be a little different after you are turned 90 degrees and going down the drop, when you are 300+ in the air.

Gigas take up a lotta room and space. If the park has the funds, then perhaps. Although, we have learned from the past that bigger isn't better... In the coaster world at least.

Hypers are more common now that Giga's are around. Giga's will be more common when the next height-hurdle is passed.

But will the next height-hurdle be passed as soon as we think? Sure, hypers are more popular nowadays. But the big factor is money. Just because we see a lot of hypers around now that the first one appeared over 10 years ago means nothing.

Prices aren't going down any, folks!

The fact is that giga's are going to set the park back at least another 10 million or so than a hyper; money that could be spent on a whole other coaster (two or more if they're wooden). Is it really that important to gain another 100+ feet/20+ mph?

Like I said in a post up above, the only reason to build a giga is to break records, and that costs a lot of money. Period. Most parks don't have that money. Therefore, we'll only be seeing 300+ feet coasters at the large parks that have the capability to quickly rebound from the cost to build it.

Giga's take up a massive amount of space from their larger pullouts and turn-arounds to the space their structure takes up. A lot of parks don't have that space to "waste" (on a single coaster/attraction), either.

In the future we'll be seeing coasters that use ingenuity to make the most out of space available. A coaster doesn't have to be that big to give the sense of speed or thrills. Millennium Force doesn't even have the most g-forces in Cedar Point. If a person can't tell the difference between real speed and the sense of real speed, then which one do you think most parks are going to choose? The cheaper one.

Don't forget about the neighbors. How many of them do you think want a 300 ft. "eyesore" to look at from their houses? It's hard enough to get approval for the 200ft. tall hypers.

I think more giga's or possibably taller will be produced. After Magnum we really didn't see many hypers until about 8 years of magnum first season.
Milly/Sea Drag just were created last season most Amusement/Theme parks are working on a two to five year buisness plan not to mention other coaster manufactures have to step up to the plate to produce these rides. Right now only Morgan and Intamin have made a Giga. And it is costly to produce a full circuit Giga with the exception of a Thrust Air.

mr.mouse. SFDL has a hyper and 4 pieces of junk. why would they want the same style coaster? they need everything but another "speed coaster". they need a cci woodie and a mean floorless and there set. Also a double S&S tower. then i will be in love with d' lake and i wont know what PCW is.
