Is anyone going to build another giga?

i was just wondering if any one is going to build another giga any time soon, like next year?
we can only hope :)
There is a rumored giga coming to Heide Park (sp?) for 2003, with a height of 340 feet.
I hope so too.
i really hope either next year or in 2003 a park in the US will get a giga.

I've heard of a park what is going to build one for the 2003 season but I forgot which one.

I wish SFStL would get a giga coaster, but that would make all the guests happy...;)
Gigacoasters won't be too uncommon once S&S starts plopping down their production Thrust Airs. With those things, 400 feet doesn't sound improbable for much longer.

Look at my post above...
Is there still talk of one at knotts?
I think Giga's are still a ways off before they be as common as a couple parks each year building one, much like hyper's today. of course then, 400 ft will be the next expensive thing.

For some reason I think they just might get one next year
I hope SFWOA & SFDL get one PLEASE

front clear, back clear ALL CLEAR
You have to think of cost. Millenium Force cost about $25 million. There's not too many parks that will pay that price, esp when Hyper's are what...15 million? I'm sure you'll see a few, but I don't think they will be popping up all over like Hyper's. Heck, a lot of parks don't even have a Hyper (Hershey, BGT, Knotts, some SF parks, some Paramount parks, etc.).
I doubt KBF will get a giga. They are really cramped in there. Now SFMM...

I'm sure another park will get a giga within the next several years. However, I think the only reason to build a giga over a hyper is to gain a record.

I seriously doubt someone is going to build a giga that isn't taller than the tallest, you know what I mean? It sort of defeats the purpose.

Not many parks have that kind of money to buy a giga, only the "big wigs." As long as a coaster is expertly designed and executed, I don't care how tall or fast it is. Neither does the GP. If they/I have fun, nothing else matters. And park execs see that.

Actually SFMM is at there end of there property, cant you notice why they are building rides so close together.

I don't think that a thrust air giga will provide the same thrills as a conventional giga. Not that it won't provide some unique thrills of its own, it is just not the same. I rode H:XLC this week and I though it was great, but you never realize that your 160 feet above the ground, I could have been 160 inches for all I knew as quickly as it occurred. In fact I really don't feel that the height has anything to do with the thrill of a TA2K, the launch was far more thrilling than the hill. Just my opinion, but I hope that parks don't substitute a giga TA2K for a true giga.
