Insider Information on The Mummy!

Any launch coaster with a strong launch has to warn you when they are going to do it and tell you to put your head back. Some don't have countdown lights, but you sit on the track knowing about when it is. If this thing has random launches, do they tell you beforehand or are they not as strong or what?

Hum...They don't do that at SFOT, AW, or FT.

Must be a non Texas thing... *** Edited 4/15/2004 2:11:57 PM UTC by Markieb***

The launch is NOT powerful at all. It happens during an uphill incline so you are already preconditioned to be sitting back at that point.

However, it is nowhere near as powerful as the typical LIM. It's maybe 40? 50 mph tops? and you are already moving forward at that point (after the 180 spin on the turntable) so it doesn't come as a sudden jolt to the system.

It's still a great, fun ride though.

The thing that shocked me was the "ramming" into the wall- a very, very fast stop for a coaster. I think it just hits a bumper, doesn't it?

The launch is a tad less "intense" than Hulk's, but, it's still great... the only thing you hear is the Mummy saying "Your souls are mine!" Unfortunately, the "robotic" Mummy was not operating on our visit. Oh well. But, I was wondering, how would they get a Mummy to "jump" onto vechicles with flat fronts...

Oh, and the fire on the roof is very far away. Great ride though. All the positives of a roller coaster, all the positives with a dark ride... Great. The ending is not that great, but it has the best drop of the ride- very large, steep, and banked.

I thought the ending was very good, especially because you can't see the bottom of the drop because of all the fog.
