Its eye catching......

Plus I knew none of it till I just found it, and with so little known about the attraction, I figured everyone would apperciate it....right?

Gosh Rob, retrack your claws a bit. The article wasn't THAT bad.

Well swim, I hadn't seen that article. Thanks for the link.

To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them".

Too bad it won't open for my spring break, I was really looking foward to it. But just to make sure, does anyone know if there will be a preview, or anything of that sort. Or maybe if they will do a soft opening in the comming three weeks...Sorry, I am letting my "hyper-optimism" take over my thoughts. But if you can respond to the following questions that would be great. Thanks.
This is getting annoying. Last year Epcot started sneak peeks the week on M:S after my Spring Break -- I just bet that USF will start sneek peaks on Mummy the week after I get back.

Grrr!!!!

^That will happen to me also, it happened before and will again.
Wow! Thanks, Swim! Now I am really excited. There was speculation that it would just be a few moderate launches from scene to scene, but it looks like it will be a lot more than that. Sounds like a genuine rollercoaster, tweaked Universal style! I can't wait. Luckily for me, I now live within a short drive of Hollywood. But for all you 'spring breakers,' I do feel your pain.

The countdown to spring begins!

Here's a CGI ridethrough video if you want a real spoiler....but, I get a sneaking suspicion this was not intended to go public

A backward launch!!! WOW!!!
It looks great!

I just wish I had an EXACT date that it will open.....it would make planning my vacation a lot easier!

They probably don't even know yet.....and it's probably even in their best interest to not announce a firm date with all the last minute problems/tweaking that can go on. Sucks for us, but is reality :)

WARNING!! SPOILER!! Okay, I saw the CGI video, I don't get what you mean by a backward launch, Is it when you go through the mouth or when you enter the fake station. Im pretty sure that a backward launch means you get a launch that instead pushes u foward it takes u back. I didn't see it in the flick.
That CGI is quite old....the ride could have changed since then too.

Thanks peabody, I guess there was no backward launch in the video

Yeah, i was kinda confused when I didn't see the backwards launch. I think a forward, reverse, then really powerful forward launch would be quite a rush. It could simulate a fight, or the mummy sucking in its breath or something. That would be awesome. *** Edited 3/2/2004 11:39:53 PM UTC by RollrCoastrCrazy***
About.com updated the page with a few new pix of the animatronic mummys:

It looked like the backward launch was on the same track as the first. But instead up going backwards you are facing forward.
So how forceful is the launch?? Oh yeah and from the general publics view of the ride/coaster, This lasy who i know was down there last week and she said she was terrified and it was a very good ride. So im assuming its gonna be a hit w/ the crowds.

And what a way to come back on the scene of coaster making Premier. By the way are they in anyway directly related to the six flags parks franchise cause i wonder why there isnt more of their coasters in virtually every six flags park being that it would still be under the same roof in a sense.

There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!
