Nobody was hurt and the safety system kicked in when it was supposed to. But man, hanging out there like that for over an hour in windy conditions... yikes. I have to admit, if that was me, there might have been a light rain during that event... if you know what I mean ;)
And just to think that almost happened to me and my friends on opening day.
I would not mind being "out there" but certainly not an hour. Yikes!
My questionable non-fear of heights is not THAT insane. Well, maybe it is. LMAO!

bill, DOES have a pretty healthy fear/respect of heights...;)
Maybe just in case the wind blows the arms outward...so they wont hit anything on the way in?
...and such
You think that with the ride being on top of a tower, they would be aware of the effects of the wind on the rides. Should this ride have been closed before the wind was that high?
I have to get out there to ride this thing....it looks awsome.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I think the reporter might have added to some of the confusion regarding the *nature* of these rides...
Also, being in the desert the winds do pick up quickly and are hard to predict...when WE were there we were told it would operate until the winds hit 25 mph though.....hmmmm. Operate properly? ;)

but imagine the view! ;)
I think that would be amazingly fun and an awesome experience. But then again, I'm a littlun. I like that type of stuff.
Adrenaline Whore.

Its not a rollercoaster.
I know, I was poking fun at the confusion the reported had mentioned by rollergator;)

-Skydiving *grumbling about Insanity opening day* Jeff
You said it, Jeff! :-P
Bill, when I saw the news article I thought the same exact thing. I knew that *malfunctioning* arm would get SOMEBODY. I just wish it was us. ;-)
After all that waiting another hour or so hanging off the Tower would of been worth it. :-P
It could of been worse......they could of been on a malfunctiong X-Scream, being *dropped* a few feet over and over........and over.......and over. Woohoo!

An Old Coaster fart that refuses to grow old, I just wish many of my friends could have as well!
I think it's funny how they called it a "rollercoaster" as well.
X-Scream is more coaster-ish than Insanity.....sheesh ;-) High Roller is just a bore. The Big Shot was fun. :-P

It took the 1995 incident on the Drop Zone at Carowinds for Intamin to redesign a release mechanism if the cars get stuck.
My Beautiful wife, Julia, is the best thing that has ever happened to me!
