Would it be possible to include the date when a thread is started along with the other info shown? It might allow people to avoid ancient threads that suddenly pop up at the top of active threads (like today). Or is adding that not worth the occasional inconvenience of reading an old thread?
I dunno... I've tried to reduce the amount of data shown, or minimize it, wherever possible. It doesn't happen all that often.

Yeah, I can kind of see it Jeff's way. Extra information is handy sometimes, but not at the price of making the page look too busy. And it's only a click away, after all.

I've been having a lot of conversations lately with people about existing and accepted paradigms versus creating new ones. The barrier for change usually has to do with discovery. For example, remember we had that thread about how people didn't know the "new post" link would bounce you to the newest one? Or with established ones, I get annoyed when they're not in place, like clicking on a photo in a gallery as a means to get to the next one.
I guess my point is that I've fallen into a desire of less is more, and simple is better, but sometimes it's hard to communicate how to embrace the simple in the most effective way.
