Infinite popup

I'm just wondering if anyone else on occasion gets a popup that just will not stop popping up. I think it was from adserver.com with something infront of that part. I can tolerate popups, but this comes up saying there is no page to display as many times as possible until I end task.
It sounds like you have spyware that is trying to override or control the normal popups on this site.

Guess who's back? Back Again? James K's back. Tell a friend.

Tservo download spybot search and destroy. Install it and run it. Also make sure you download Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. Its got a built in pop up blocker that works really well. You will want to run reg clean and make sure no spyware is in your start up folder or reg and reinstalls itself. If your not to good with computers you will need to ask someone for help cause you can seriously wreck your pc.

Thanks,

Doug

If you are not to good with computers and you are using a wireless connection for the internet or to a LAN you may want to talk to somebody before installing SP2 for XP. It will kill your wireless connection and you have to be a contortionist to fix it. ;)
I've got the same problem.

Already I've had spyware unknowingly install itself at least twice now as a result of the popups here on the buzz as well as various other sites & it's really becoming a major problem & something should really be done about it.

Stop the pop-up issue here on the Buzz by getting a Club membership. :) (yes, shameless whoring for the club, but hey -- it helps.)
Or just get Mozilla Firefox. No Pop-ups, no spyware. Plus all of the other better-than-IE features.

Being a club member isn't going to help you if you picked up some drive-by spyware from another site.

Thanks for the help. I do run spybot maybe once a week, and I am on a LAN. It can just get a little annoying sometimes, and I appreciate the not getting bombared to join the club to aviod popups. I know that there are probably people in the club with the same thing, but I do have the poor college kid excuse.
Repeat after me...

$20 a year...

38 cents a week...

5.5 cents a day...

You cut down on ONE can of the carbonated beverage of your choice and you've got two weeks covered right there...

Does anyone else get a pop up on the homepage,or when you click on a thread in the "recent posts" section that just freezes up?

This seems to happen each & every time I visit the site & I usually have to reboot the PC at least two or three times as a result...I'm also getting "action cancelled" error messages after viewing the site so I always have to log off in order to get any other sites to load properly, same thing happens when I click on any links posted in any threads or news items.

Has anyone else experienced any of these problems due to pop ups on the site?

Yes BATWING.

My Beautiful wife, Julia, is the best thing that has ever happened to me!

I keep getting the "Image may only be viewed from Coasterbuzz.com" message in place of the coaster photos on the home page. Same thing over at PointBuzz as well. I'm not able to view any pictures. Any suggestions?

And for AOL users: AOL 9.0 SE Security Edition -with Enhanced Pop-up Blocking! LOL...:::cough, cough::: ;)
I'm running AOL 6.0 on this antique of a PC & since I'm still running win95 as the OS I can't install any higher versions of AOL.

That & I'm not logged in using the master account for AOL either so I doubt that I could simply download & install any higher versions of it.
