I don't know what the deal is, but yesterday at one point and now currently, I seem to have lost the ability to post a reply. Everything else seems to work. I can edit, I can start a topic (as I'm doing here), but when I hit the post a reply button, nothing happens. I logged out and back in and even switched from firefox to IE and it's all the same.
It was temporary yesterday apparently as all became well again in the afternoon. But as I said, I'm experiencing it again right now, so I figured I mention it.

That's a Carrie-specific "feature." :) Seriously though, if it happens again, let me know, with the specific time, and I'll see if there are any errors logged with your name on them.

I can post a reply here (as you can see), but I just tried (9:40 AM MT, 9/13/12) to post in the Father Sues... thread in the news forum and I can't get a reply box.
The world may never get to read my brilliance... ;-)

Huh. That seems to be the only thread that is causing the problem for me.

This happened to me yesterday morning as well, but very intermittently (the most fun kind of problem for anyone trying to troubleshoot). Clicking on the "Post a reply" button didn't expand the text box. Seemed to be working fine later in the day.
Happened to me yesterday as well. When I clicked "reply" the box didn't come up. I exited the thread and tried another and it worked. I then went back to the original thread and was able to reply.
Using Chrome.
Hi
Nothing in the error log, and I can't reproduce. Are you guys club members? In other words, do you see ads? It's possible that a rogue ad is causing issues.

I'm a club member. Since it worked for me last night when I was home, I just chalked it up to either a browser issue or my company network, which causes websites to be very slow to respond at times. Until Carrie mentioned the same thing happened to her, around the same timeframe.
I am not a club member. I won't pay for a site that won't allow me to post replies whenever I please.
Hahahahahaha....
Oh, wait...you're not laughing? Oops...ok.
;-) :-) (...and doesn't provide emoticons... hehehehe)

Maybe my problem of not being able to Vote up a few times yesterday is associated with the same problem?

I also experienced this problem yesterday, and also in just one thread--that I tried, at least. I attempted posting in a different thread and was successful.

I am a club member, so I would appreciate it if you fixed this problem for me before you do so for these commoners.

Hey, we're commoners who are $25 a year richer than you! Bazinga!!

I refuse to go to any park whose Peanuts area does not break a world record. That's how we club members roll.
Hi
Three bucks used to buy six shares of Six Flags. Which would get you 36 flags, I guess...

A few times yesterday, when I would try to post a reply, I would type in my well thought out, totally relevant sentences, but when I'd click on the submit button, I'd get an error message that I can't submit an empty post.
If you don't see this message, then you'll know it happened again.
Maybe the forum engine is becoming self-aware and is now smart enough to decide whether or not a reply is worthy of posting. In fact, I've noticed that many of my thought provoking novellas I've typed up recently have shown up as a one- or two-sentence weak attempt at humor when I click on submit.
Good news, everyone. I found the problem, and it's fixed. Make sure you shift-refresh if you're still getting it. This should fix the voting problem as well.
