In College?

I'm a sophomore at Cedarville University, about 40 min from PKI. I'm majoring in Secondary Education (Math). I'll be working at Cedar Point this summer for the first time, on Corkscrew.

I'm just about to graduate with degrees in Materials Science and Engineering and Applied Mechanics from Michigan State University, and will be starting graduate school in Biomedical Engineering this summer. Of course I will still find time to make it to Cedar Point whenever humanly possible.
I am in college but as an employee. I work for OSU. I am often found taking classes though (one of the neat benefits).
millrace,

You are absolutely correct there! I've worked at the University of Pittsburgh for the past 12 years. They paid 80% of my MPH (masters in public health), and they'll be paying for 75% of my Ph.D. program when I start that this fall.

An awesome benefit for working for a university if you ask me!
Well, I was a between my 4th and 5th years at Cincinnati when I joined GTTP then here when it started, but I now am in the work force. I'm from just north of Columbus, OH (Delaware, to be exact), so now living here in Cincinnati stinks only for one reason, 2 hours further to CP, but I'm right here at PKI!

It's even better when I take said classes during work time! I get paid to go to a free class instead of doing the work I am supposed to do. (everything is okayed through my supervisor, I don't exploit the system too much)

I am only in 9th grade, eventhough I have a late birthday, so I was held back a year. I can't really say that I am at a college, but I can say that I already have choices to make about college. Even though I am only a freshman in high school, I already have gotten around 15 full academic scholarships, and even some universities are going to pay me money to go there which is awesome. I have gotten these scholarships, along with two of my other friends because we own and operate our own internet company and are entrepaneurs, so we are going to get free rides. http://www.rnwebdesign.com I don't know where to go for college, it's so confusing, such as U MD or U PENN, Berkley, MIT, Stanford, Duke, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State, Brandeis, U Michigan, Towson, UCLA, and some other smaller colleges that I don't remember at this point. If anyone has any information about any of these schools, such as what they are like, what they look like, how they operate etc, please give me a letter. sales@rnwebdesign.com or daveag1285@aol.com Thanks, I appreciate it, I can't wait to go to a college. Freedom from my parents!!! YES!!!

Thats pretty impressive ACE, to be only a freshman in high school and operate your own internet company. I never even touched a computer until I was in 10th grade. I was just wondering how these scholarships work, i mean are they like sports scholarships but for computers, did you have to apply for them? I am a little confused as to how that would work, and how all these schools found out about you. As for the schools you listed, it would really depend on what you want to go into. But in general, of the ones you listed, MIT, Berkley, Stanford, and Duke are considered to be the best. Still, yo have three years to decide, so i would not sweat it.

I dinna cry when me own father was hung for stealing a pig. But I'll cry now.- Willie
They are full scholarships for "academics" but the real reason is because of the company. We were in many magazines and newspapers featured as young entrepaneurs and these colleges found out about us. If you check out the website on U PENN, they have many entrepaneural scholarships for students that own a company and have a certain gpa. I got accpeted because I was a part owner of the company and because I have a 3.85 gpa and I am in Advanced placement and honors classes. The coleges show me as a good student and as a business person. No I did not apply for the scholarships, they came to me because I had conducted interviews and was in a few articles in the Washington Post and magazines. I got spotted, I was contacted by the colleges, some asked me a few questions while others didn't. Most of the schools said the scholarships were academic while others like U Penn said it was for being an entrepaneur but I know that they all were for being an entrepanuer in my mind. Oh, Stanford is actually the top computer school if I remember, followed by U Penn which is great for a Major in computers and a minor in business at Warton which is the most well known business school in the world. Those are my top choices, followed by MIT and U MD. I got to check out all of the campuses first though. I'm just really excited about it all. I am dissapointed though that most ivy league schools do not give out scholarships and that is probably why schools like Columbia or Harvard, which is where my uncle works so he could write me a recommendation letter, did not contact me, which is dissapointing but I am still very satisfied because I have a great oppurtunity in front of me that will not be going to waste. I won't be owning RN Web Design & Hosting Inc. much longer because the work has basically taken over my life. I get less than 2 hours sleep every night if I sleep at all. I am slipping in my schoolwork and I have no social life anymore to go out with friends to the movies, it is hecktic. I answer anywhere from 100 to 300 emails a day. It is a pain in the ***. I know how Jeff feels as a Webmaster. But it will be all worth it when we sell for around 2.2 million!!!!! It's now time to party. Party at my house. HAHA. Starting a new company called Rockville Computers which will sell fix and repair computers and sell parts. It's still in the making though, just finishing the business plan, if anyone wants further information just let me know. My email is in my profile or you can reach me at sales@rnwebdesign.com or http://www.rnwebdesign.com Sorry that this is all off topic. I REALLY LOVE COASTERS THOUGH!!!!!

I'm a Freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which is close enough to SFGAm and those two wonderful CCI's 45 minutes north. As far as a major goes, I'm still pretty undecided but something like marketing and business with an emphasis in the amusement industry would be fun. Oh, and I'm single too, btw. ;-)

Mechanical Engineering freshman (almost done with the year!) at Michigan State University. No working at any parks *yet*, seeing as my current job pays me almost 2.5 times what I'd make at a park per hour.
