In College?

I guess i have ben inspired by the gay post, so i am gonna ask what coasterbuzz members are currently in college and where they go. It seems like most of the people here are either younger or older than college level, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough.
I am a freshman at Biola University, which is conveniently placed 5 miles from Knott's berry farm. My roommate and I go there about 2 times a week. I am majoring in computer science.

I am a high school senior, but I will be at Connecticut College next year. I was also thinking about Ohio Wesleyan which would have been close to Cedar Point and PKI. Oh well, Conn is a better school.
Junior in Engineering at the University of Arkansas. At my current rate I'm just hoping to graduate in this lifetime.

saviourmachine, I didn't know Biola had a CS program. I've always assumed they only had religion-oriented stuff. I'm on their mailing list for the Missiology grad program but I can't see myself going. Sure would be nice, though...
I'm also at the U of Arkansas - majoring in philosophy, history, and classical studies. I used to be computer science (one class away from a minor).

By the way, when is everyone's spring break? It seems like many schools other than ours have their spring break pretty late (April). Ours is usually the next to the last week of March.

How many of you also work at a park in the summer... I'm a bit curious about that.

HEY...I take offense to that...(just kidding)
I'm a freshman at Ohio Wesleyan University and I believe it's a great school...in most aspects. I do have my criticisms, but here not the place to go into those.

Anyway, I am double majoring in English and history and also getting certified to teach high school English...yes, I'm busy!

Coasters...the best natural buzz available.
I am 20 years and I'm a second year Computer Engineering major at Rochester Institute of Technology. This summer will be my first working at a park and I'll be part of the Magnum crew (fancy fixed up trains and all) at Cedar Point! I can't wait! :) (too bad this silly school keeps me until May 26. :()

MooreOn, actually choosing between OWU and Conn was a very tough decision. I know it is a fantastic school, and I would have done well there. It's kinda too bad, I would have liked to start a coaster club within the university, that would have been kinda cool.

I was there two weeks ago for the Slice od College Life and had a great time. Do you play frisbee golf? I played for the first time at OWU and loved it. It seems to be very big there. We teed off from the roof of Welch which I don't think is really allowed, but whatever. Anyway, I haven't actually sent my check to Conn yet so something might change my mind, you never know.

themeparkne,

You were playing frisbee-golf on the top of my dorm building! Don't feel bad - A lot of people do a lot of things they aren't supposed to on top of the building...we'll leave it at that. :)

Anyways, no I don't play frisbee golf, but yes, frisbee is pretty big here. I'm still working on learning how to throw the thing!

OWU is about 2 hours from both CP and PKI...not to mention, SF(W)O(A) also. I've wanted to start some kind of coaster club, too, but unfortunately, the only coaster lovers I've met so far are hardly considered enthusiasts.

I love OWU though, and am happy with my college choice.

I'm a twenty-six year old (flunked out the first time) senior at University of Maryland, College Park. I'm a microbiology pre-dental major. Will take the DAT's this August, so have to spend my summer studying, not traveling around to ride.
In answer to the question about working at parks - no. I have to take jobs which, "prove I have a dedication to the health care professions." *** This post was edited by Carsten on 4/22/2001. ***

I just finished my freshman year at Kettering University where I am majoring in Computer Engineering. I don't work at a park, but if a few certain things go right I may be working very closely with some of them :o)
