Im not usually the one to complain but...

Coasterbuzz has been loading very slowly lately. Sometimes my browser will just hang on a blank page and not load anything. Not the type of page that hangs because of the ad, ill click a link and the next page will either take 5 minutes to load or it wont at all. It doesnt do it all the time, but it has been doing it a lot lately, both here and at GTTP.

I've noticed that, too. When I'd click on a forum topic, the heading would be there but in place of the text would be a big white box.

I know it's been like that ever since the site conversion.

I kinda liked the old site just a bit better because of the more efficient load times, now it takes forever just to load up the homepage whenever I select it from my favorites list.

Does anyone know if the same thing is happening to coasterbuzz club members or not?

yes..since the site changed..its be loading like a snail.....but hey...why complain

I haven't noticed. Still works like it always did for me.

carrouseler, the big white box you're refferring to is some screwy ad that messes with the site. Just hit refresh and the page will load.

The new site design has nothing to do with the slower connections of late. I know Jeff is aware of the problem and is working on a solution.

I have been having the same problem, and even had trouble getting on to the site about 10 minutes ago.

The redesign led to double performance of the old site. That is not the issue. This issue didn't appear until Wednesday, and I've since been in Vegas.

The issue is disk storage, or specifically, lack thereof. Should be cleared up soon.

Slightly off the topic as well, the back button is still very faulty. Sometimes it works, but a lot of times, everytime in coasterbuzz games, it does not work.

Guys who say it is slow, clear out ur cookies and temp files every once and a while, i do it every week or so, and i have never had a problem with cbuzz... i have a program called CleanUp! which is free which cleans out ALL of that stuff, incuding temp porn files for you 13-15 year olds...http://users3.ev1.net/~stevengould/cleanup/index.html

It's been happening to me as well but I just assumed it had something to do with my screwed up computer.

It's refreshing to discover that it isn't my problem.

I also found it interesting that I only had the problem with Explorer. It worked fine on Netscape. Could that mean anything (I am far removed from a computer person).

Also about the "white blob of death, ;)" I've been getting it about once every 3 or 4 page loads... Refreshing does the trick, but I've noticed that it isn't one specific ad causing it. It's done it with the CBuzz ad, and the pick a fruit ad, plus more. Just passing that along...

If at first don't succeed, find out if the loser gets anything.

It happens to me. It seems to happen about one out of every two times a page loads. Very bad w/ forums. Its in the shape of a t-shirt for me.

Clear for launch............. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

If you try to use the back button and it doesn't work click on the tiny arrow next to it and you will see a word in quotation marks, I can't remember the word but just go to the one below that and it will take you back.

...or just click "news" at the top or bottom of the page. That problem only happens from news items. I'm aware of it, will fix it when I have time.

I don't usually have any problems with it, but I did have problems yesterday. I would just get the backround and thats it. But it seems to be working today so I'm happy.

From time to time recently I've noticed slow page loads, and generally when I've noticed it it's been timeouts waiting for ads to come up.

The odd thing is that the ones that seemed to be having trouble were all coming from "ads.popw.com" which is very strange, considering the relationship between popw.com and coasterbuzz.com...!

Hey, I remember when we had to wait for jeeves.flycast.com connections to time out because their ad server kept getting overloaded or simply going down completely. I always thought it very bad form for a 3rd party ad server to screw up a web site's performance and I always said Jeff should serve his own ads. So how come the ads that don't want to load are (apparently not, but supposed to be) coming from his own server?! :)

ads.popw.com serves the skyscraper, because I need to rotate the standard Burst and Fastclick stuff with the campaign I sold myself to CP. So if I'm not serving the CP campaign or one of my defaults, it essentially then must in turn load one of the two ad providers, which adds another step.

However, last weekend the problem was entirely my problem. Everything is good to go now.
