I'm gonna ride X.....finally....

you left coast folks sure do stay up late, LOL...honestly, assuming the lines are as short as I'm being told, I'll be in some sort of post-X afterglow...:).

as for KBF, I'd take either one of the two (GR or Monte) given the too-cool Jaguar! and an opeating Xcelerator, and WAY ...got some amazing pics of the testing for that, the cars are pure perfection....surprised there aren't 50's-era car buffs hanging out around the station....;). Xcelerator, I want to do badly...Hope I can get more TT (either one, flat ride or coaster)....

The mine ride just SCREAMS of LoCoSuMo-style transformation to me...another coaster for KBF, and an easy conversion, mostly "flat track" at 3-5 mph anyway... let's just say that it wouldn't be nearly such an exciting ride given the CA lawsuit crowd...;). The flume for me was more dark ride than thrill ride, but really WORKS as a dark ride...excellent work on that one, Knotts....of course, at the end, I always try to "nose" the ride, and with lots of full troughs, got my boats nice and soak-y...

I really want to try and meet up with some of you'se guys....(which BTW, is Joisey, not NYC)...posting to the meeting calendar tomorrow am at "work"....maybe there's a comedy writing gig in LA somewhere, huh?...Dates, etc. should be up by noon barring some sort of website meltdown....

rollergator:

Just so you know (I don't know if you checked SFMM's operating schedule), they are only open until 6:00 p.m. on the 13th. There's a church-sponsored private party that night from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., but you usually can buy tickets at the booths with no problem (last year - $30.00). Saturday's operation should be normal - 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., but since Hurricane Harbor is still open on weekends in September, don't expect Flashback operation unless it's on Friday night. I hope for your sanity's sake that 'X' keeps up its recent, fairly dependable operation (averaged less than 5 minute dispatches for 2 train operation) for your trip. I was just up there on Saturday for the Platinum Passholder's early rider's event, and in our group of 4, we each got from 6 to 9 rides on X before 10:00 a.m. before we went on to 5 other coasters opened early for our group - they're really spoiling us!! GOOD LUCK!!

As for suggestions for Las Vegas, Speed is fun and it's two rides for $8.00 (double launches each time), or an all-day pass for $14.95. If you get a Sahara casino card, and then get the coupon book, there is a coupon in there for $5.00 off the cyberpass (discounted cost $14.95 - regular $19.95) and that's an all-day ride pass for both Speed and both Cyber Speedways (Indy car and Nascar simulators). I don't know if Desperado is running reliably or not, but last time I rode (last year) there was a discount for Manhattan Express on the back of the ticket stub. As for AdventureDome, you can choose to buy an all-day pass, or just a single ride ticket if you just want to ride the coaster.

Enjoy SoCal and Vegas:) I am going in December to SoCal and Vegas because HH is closed so I can ride Flasback. Does anyone know how many miles from SFMM to Vegas? Have Fun:)

'Moosh, CFM, Soggy, DJVICDOGG (whom I will refer to simply as DVD from now on).....all SOCal coasterfolk....please be advised that the meeting calendar has been updated...NO excuses are acceptable, and a note from Epstein's mother will not suffice! You must be there Saturday before opening at the passholders entrance.....
i thought Manhatten Express had lapbars... If i remember correctly, i was really suprised to have that twist w/o shoulder harnesses

Re: Vegas--

I second the Bellagio buffet recommendation. Give yourself time to watch the fountains out front too.

Hit the Stratosphere early enough to be up top for the sunset. Give yourself plenty of time to buy your tickets, find the elevators (I think I had to walk through a mall or something), and stand in line.

Distances in Vegas are LARGE. If you walk in the front door of Circus Circus (from the strip) you are still a long walk from the Adventuredome.

.sig doesn't care if it is a dry heat...110 F is still darn HOT
