'Is a new themed land for Six Flags Great America in the works for the 2005 season? BINGO! A new land will take the place of the useless bus parking lot next to Raging Bull and Viper. The new land, rumored to be a "ocean seaside nautical" theme, would be the home to the parks newest coaster, a new Custom B&M Floorless called "WaveRunner". The new coaster will have Blue track, and Yellow supports. The new coaster will feature a stunning 8 inversions and a new element never before seen. The announcment will come sometime in 2004, most likely early April.'
Now, this is probably not anywhere near the truth, but it is pretty interesting, and on topic, so I thought I'd mention it. Personally, I think it would be awesome were it to happen, but I really have serious doubts. Even if the coaster part turns out to be true, I doubt the themed land is. But I guess we'll see.

And what about the ocean seaside nautical land they already have? (Not that it is very themed anymore ;))
Certain victory.
I dont see them adding the new land conecting it to SW territory because it would involve putting a very long walkway that couldnt have many rides because the close proximity of the Wizzer and Viper. There is not enough room for a new land to expand the park south of Raging Bull and Viper it would have to be an expansion to the west towards Space Shuttle America.
As for the theming problem, they could always theme it to a West Coast port (SF, Seattle, LA, San Diego, etc) in fact the name "Wave Runner" I associate with a surfing theme which would fit better in a West Coast setting then East Coast.
However, I personally would love not a floorless but an Intamin Giga. Cedar Point seems to have no problem supporting a Hyper and a Giga, and seeing that Raging Bull has such a twisted track the Giga could be an L-shaped out and back. You could have the station where the Go-Karts are, have the lift go back towards the enterance and have the first drop twist 90 degrees and head back towards Viper.
Now some may argue that a ride like that is too much like American Eagle, but the difference between a steel and woodie I think would make each ride unique enough. Besides a simple advertisment plan focusing on the 300ft drop part would draw people in droves regardless. *** Edited 12/14/2003 12:45:42 PM UTC by Touchdown***

I think the park would be nice with maybe another cobra roll, or even a park 1st...an immelman, yeah....

I think it would be cool if the coaster had both a diving loop and an immelman! After all, doesn't Riddler's Revenge have two diving loops?

I agree. Look what they did for Raging Bull - adding a new twist (no pun intended) to hyper-coasters.
