Please visit the small parks. We don't know what's happening behind the scenes

Idora is gone, long gone. That sucks, but that's real life. It's not coming back. Few people under the age of 30 even remember it. While I'm all for preserving its memory, I don't know what you expect to accomplish by getting a bunch of people to hang out in a place where clearly you aren't wanted in the first place. There are some nice parks (non-amusement) in Youngstown. Maybe you should concentrate your energies there.

I miss Idora as much as anyone (just view my signature), after all, I was going there for around 15 years before it shut down. I own park signage, I have videos, but I know it's a lost cause to try to bring it back. Get together and enjoy the memories, or fight for a parkk that still has a chance for survival, like Conneaut Lake Park, it's only an hour away. Idora's gone...let it rest in peace.

I sure do miss the Idora Wildcat & Jackrabbit.
And I agree about rebirth of downtown area. Akron, Cleveland, Columbus have done it, and the results have been dramatic. Look at Akron's First Night celebration or the growth and development around UA.
Look at the Short North and arena districts of Columbus. That used to be a dump as well.
The only thing that will get Youngstown out of its dump status is itself.
