I'd let it dissapear. - 63%

The results are exactly what I expected, and I'm glad some people saw it and responded to it.

The site is financially stable for now. I'm making budget. The point here is that the ads pay the bills, and it would do you good to click on them from time to time, especially those that are targeted to travel, amusement parks, etc., as they pay the highest. I don't get paid for the clicks, but the more clicks they get the more likely it is they'll continue to buy ads.

I wish I could see the results! When I asked, Jeff said somthing must be wrong with my cookies, and cookies is one of the few computer things I don't know much about, so I don't know how to fix it. Any help?

Any way, back on topic...

I responded "I'd pay a subscription fee" because somthing like 25-30 bucks for a years subscription seems very fair, considering how great the site is. I don't visit any coaster sites regularly other than this one, and GTTP. I love this site, and would be crushed if it went away.

Here's my suggestion: Charge.
Somthing low like $10-15 a year for a membership would help to keep a high enough member count, but would filter out LOTS of noise, and would show you who really cares about this site. I personally, am only 14 years old. I can't mooch more than 3-4 bucks every week for food or somthing from my parents, and I don't really have a job.

The point of all this is, although I don't have a "steady" cash flow, I would gladly pay up to $30 a year to remain an "active" member of this site. It's got so much to offer, and it's already given me so much...

Thank you for the best site ever :).

Frick I,d pay a small yearly fe. This site is really informative, and good....
I've got to have my CoasterBuzz. It is one of the few places on the Internet that I visit daily and truly enjoy. It is very informative and I feel like I know most of the regulars here. I would be more than willing to pay simply because of the fact that most of the *trash* is screened out. The moderation alone is worth paying for.
I voted to let it disappear because I don't have much money and there are much more important things to spend money on. This site is nice, but I'd have to get my coaster fill somewhere else if it wasn't free. I also like the moderation but only to some extent...that's just because I have very different views on some things than the mods seem to. Overall, though, great site.
Put me down for a subscription. This is the best coaster site on the net!

Well it is down almost 3% now!!! :) A sign..albeit a small one...but a sign showing that people are paying attention and voting. I think a more appropriate question would be how much would you pay.

What is life without it's ups and downs
If i lived in one of the bigger states that make up most of this forum and discussion, i would pay for it but since i don't,i probably wouldn't.Kudo's to Jeff for all his hard work and committment anyway.

I personally think this is the best site on the web. It has great news, reviews, and cool features. I would hate to see this site disapear. However, I voted to let it disapear. I have one main reason. I do not have money to give to websites. I cannot pay money just to keep a website going when I need it for my personal expences (food, bills, housing). I mean $25 is a hellava lot of money to me right now. I just can't afford it. Sorry guys but I would have to let it disapear in this case.
Why not make it less than $25?

Parks For 2001: PKD, BGW, Funtown USA
It's a great site.... but what I do on it is look at the coaster/park info (I could do that on the RCDB for free), and use the fourms (there are hundreds of free fourms on the Internet, and RRC. Moderated, no, but I would rather pick my way through the abusive threads than spend $20!)

I wouldn't exactly say that.

Hey, I picked pay a subscription fee, because Coasterbuzz rocks!

Coasters- a little slice of heaven
Subscription fee is good. Ask yourselves this, "Can you find a better site"?

I think the big problem with our Internet-oriented society is that everyone thinks everything is free, especially young people. I don't normally click on banner ads, but I have bought an item a piece from Thrillride and Screamscape off their e- commerce pages that links to Amazon. If Coasterbuzz had more items like that I would definitely take a look and maybe buy something.
I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff makes a pretty good killing on those Coasterbuzz shirts. I think he could easily sell a couple hundred of them. Honestly, I don't pay for any sites on the web and as much as I love this one, I don't think I could bring myself to pay for it. Also, don't forget that I think the participation of many people is what makes this site great. If it were to become a subscription site, the number of people participating would decrease and the site wouldn't be as good. The database and the features are nice, but the forums are what makes this site I think.

If it came down to it and Jeff needed money to keep this site up and running. I bet quite a few people would cough up some cash to keep this site alive. I know I would.

I'd pay $5 a year, max. I love CoasterBuzz, and I don't want it to disappear, but I would not pay to keep it running. $5 is nothing, so I could slip that out, but more than that, and it's not worth it. There are so many other RC sites out there, and while none right now are quite as good as CB, once a lot of the CB community left, they'd join another community, and that would then become a very similar thing. OR, one of us would start our own site. With the bazillions of free web sites out there right now, I wouldn't be compelled to pay much for this one.

That said: I love this place and would absolutely hate for it to go. Keep up the good work, Jeff.

Jeff, I had difficulty responding to the poll because the numbers were so non-specific. How much more than $25? 26? $100? $1,000? How large a subscription (annual) fee? $25? $35? $100? How much each month? $5? $10? $25?

I want very much to help CoasterBuzz continue, and I even click on the ads (even if I have no use for some of the products ;)). With a little more information, I could give you a better answer.

PS - regarding some of the younger kids who can't get money for such things, ask me nice and I may sponsor one or two. I'd hate to make them give up coasters!
