This summer alone I had more than 100 laps on LoCoSuMo between testing, and having fun after work. I love that ride so much.

Screamscape is saying that it's not looking probable for the park to reopen next year. They let go of all of their staff, and now no one is getting the rides ready for next season. The website also says that the electricity at the campground has been cut off.
It's just a bunch of crazy rumors at this point, but even if it is true, maybe they are trying to come up with a few new ways to save money, and fully intend to open next year.

^ Firing your maintenance staff and getting your power cut off is not a way to save money. Well, ok, yes it does technically save money, but it will not help them open the park next year. As long as the park has no power and/or maintenance staff, none of the rides rehabs can be done.

Damn. I knew I should've not taken no for answer from Ava and dragged her there this summer. But it was a miserable July; we'd just had a very uncomfortable day at Holiday World (mid-90's, high humidity, big crowds), and all she wanted to do was get out of the heat. So I wroted IB off to the "Try again next year" category. Except now it looks like there might not be one. Next year, that is.

After riding LoCoSuMo nearly every year since it opened, I rode it 0 times this year. It was closed most of the time, and it when it was open - there was one (1) train running with an hour wait. No thank you.
I really hope something good comes through for the park. It's such a special place (less so this year, unfortunately).
Hrmmm Guess I have to "Eat Crow" due to a promised visit there with a friend. Sad day if the rumors become fact. I would think this should have made the paper or will be very soon.
How could this company run things into the ground so badly? By all indications Indiana Beach was a happening and profitable operation under the old ownership.

Newest rumor is that a possibly big family is coming to look at the park tomorrow! If this is true, it will be the best thing to could happen to the park. Also, the same person posted they are trying to get power restored to the park. I hope this rumor is true, this big family that I think it could be has over 20 parks and a very good one in Branson.
Hey, y'all! Caw! Caw!
Let's not write the place off or jump to any other conclusions yet! I admit the place has undergone some rather radical changes to its operation and image but, this place is still a great family park AND a potential gold mine. I am sure there are MANY people who see this.
No offence to Morgan, but my opinion is (as I believe MANY of yours is) they should've found an outside operator or retained the Spackman Family to operate the park side.
There have been MANY infrastructural changes in Monticello all designed to support and GROW Indiana Beach. The town, county and state are NOT going to let the place go down because an (allegedly) bad management situation. As many headaches the locals have endured over the decades, I am sure they ultimately appreciate and respect the impact IB has for their area.
In any case, as enthusiasts, let's make our voices heard and let them know they have our support to not throw in the towel.
Caw! Caw! That is all!
:)
Morgan left a message on my voice mail today... One day special, 40% off 2012 reservations. Sounds like they are trying to generate some quick cash.

Very well put!

Indiana Beach rocks; hands-down one of my favorite parks. Until this past summer. It was bad. I know it's just time to turn the page, another chapter.

Is this guaranteed with a credit backing? I'm not keen on putting my money on a gamble - unless it's at the casino.
That's not accurate, here is a link to an article about their legal issues in Massachusetts... http://www.rvbusiness.com/2011/09/mass-ag-turns-up-heat-on-morgan-rv-resorts/
As of that article the only thing they had to do was put all funds that are under dispute into an escrow account, none of their holdings are frozen.
