I have seen God at Dorney Park.

This is turning into a "which is the best inverted" thread.

In which case, I saw God when I plunged into the trench on Nemesis.

And by the way, I prefer green turds to yellow turds! Even if yellow turds are quieter!

[Edit: ] by the way, that was supposed to be funny.

"WGT the "big green turd," you are obviously on crack."

If I knew what the hell WGT meant, I might dignify that comment with a response.

The only coaster capable of seeing God on at Dorney would be that Anton Creation. LAZER!

See, now you're talking...

I dont believe she saw God on Lazer, but "T" almost saw her lunch! Personally, I still think its a borderline kiddie ride.

I thought God was over in the arcade playing DDR? No that is wrong, God plays skeeball.

Talon is sweet, much more re-rideable than the Batmen, IMO.

Jeremy, "a borderline kiddie ride?" How dare you spread that blasphemy here!

WAIT!!!!!

Oh... yeah, that's right.... I happen to agree (well, maybe not a "borderline kiddie coaster"... but it is not all that in my book). Sorry about that Blasphemy comment... its just that everytime Laser is brought up people seem to, for reasons beyond me, talk it up so much that it was just a little brain washing showing through.

Given the choice, I'd take Dorney's other major coasters (with the exception of Wild Mouse) over Laser. Again though, just all personal opinion.

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

To me, That is one of the most things that is missing from Dorneys Talon, NOISE!

Jeremy and his kiddie coasters, Gotta love him :)

Gatorade, (Sorry its been so hot) Thunderhawk would be and is a great coaster, If only the quit braking it to death.

Chuck, who liked Dorney better in 1997 when it still has a traditional feel. But I still give that Raft ride a A++.

What does he mean 'borderline' kiddie ride? BGT's Scorpion ( a single-looping park model) was 5 year-old CMidget's first 'grown-up' coaster.

It's the ruling king of all kiddie coasters....and it's a crying shame DP doesn't grant it the proper 42" height requirement.

don't sweat it 'Playa....2hostyl will feel a little different once there's a little jeremy he's toting with him on all his coaster jaunts....;).....

Borderline kiddie my arse.....Anton's rides carry the most force anywhere outside of Goliath IMO.....

Yeah and Jet Scream @ SFoMA (now Viper @ SFAW) a single looping Anton was my first "grown-up" ride. The fact that those rides can be used as an "introduction" to the "biggies" proves my point that it is borderline kiddie. Hell, we always considered Whizzer to be a kiddie ride as well. Demon, IMO, isnt far from being a "family" ride either.

(Assuming they are still running) I'll definitely put my child on Hershey's SooperDooperLooper before I even think about letting them ride Wildcat!

WildCat was awesome....sorry we missed you....that park has the best of everything, it's got the HW friendliness, the BGW landscaping, the wood of KG and the aroma is from another planet.....planet Choco-licious. The SDL made me feel a little sad about what happended to Revolution, though. Overall, Hershey rocked, and I will be back again.....although next time, instead of DW, I'm adding Lakemont and Williams' Grove to the itinerary.....

But, back on topic of Dorney...Laser, ThunderHawk, and Talon in the same park beats anything we've got here in FL....even without Steel Force (which I'm *told* is better than what we experienced), the mouse, and jeremy's fav, Jerk-ules.....of course, I loved the Dragon but was unable to ride Lil Laser....always the kid at heart....:)

You must not consider BGT a part of Florida.

BGT is definitely Florida, at least it was the last time I looked on the map......but to suggest that the least-maintained, worst-oped GCI coaster is in the same league as a Schmeck, THAT is blasphemy......we have good wood here, it's called the Dania Beach Hurricane....and is nowhere NEAR Tampa.....

I definitely remember the "good old days" when Gwazi was "all that"....but Busch (lack of) maintenance and insanely poor ops procedures have taken a toll on this ride.....after Hershey, I am only more disappointed in what BGT has done with Gwazi....LR and WildCat were awesome rides.....and Roar! is no slouch either.....

Don't get me wrong, BGT is the park that got me hooked (Montu)....but if Dorney was on one side of the street and BGT was on the other, I wouldn't cross that road too often....;)

Say what? Id take BGT and IOA over Dorney anyday in it's current condition.

Dorney back in '97 and before was like a stroll through a park with a rolling brook. Now it is Techno BS with not much beauty or relaxation factor to it.

Chuck, who will take 5 B&M's in florida over anything at Dorney except maybe a unbraked Thunderhawk. And I ain't the biggest B&M fan in the world.

One park that I found to have a pretty good sized section that is "techno BS with not much beauty or relaxation factor" is IOA. Half the park (Jurassic Park, Lost Continent, Port of Entry) is okay... but the rest (Superhero Island, Toon Lagoon, Seuse Landing) are some of the most plastic and artificial looking things I have ever seen. Of course, they are meant to be just that... representations of comic book concepts. However, I could find very little "relaxation factor" in any of these areas. There was just something about the over abundant and wall to wall theming that left me cold.

As for Dorney. The newer sections on the hill do look kind of bland... but the older section down by the creek still maintains some of the old charm.

Dorney is not even remotely in the same conference as BGT. BGT is one of the most perfect blends of thrill and theme in the USA. I'd take that park over ANY of these mid-Atlantic Parks aside from Hershey. In fact, take them all (S:ROS included) and send me that one!
lata,

Yes, IOA is chalked full of Techno BS but you know that going in.

I went to dorney last summer to find the lower section of the park almost totally devistated of the vegitation, Rolling Brook and a hillside full of classic flats like the Paratrooper. No Doubt about it, Dorney is now corprate with corprate pricing to boot.

Chuck saying he dosn't dislike Dorney, There is just not the same charm anymore.

last time I went(September , 15th, 2001) It had vegetation. And lots more then any park i remember going to. I articulary liked the path in the Middler of thunderhawk, and near the Log Flume thing, eatin my Sub. Also, Talon in my opinion, is one of the greatest coasters of all time! i din't exactly see god, but i sure had a great ride.
I absolutely love B&M inverts, and I'd love the chance to ride Talon...it looks like it packs such a punch in a small space. I've managed to ride Raptor (still my favorite), B:TR, Alpengeist, and Deuling Dragons. Raptor and Fire Dragon are damn close in my opinion. Of those I've ridden, B:TR is probably lowest on my list, but it is pretty intense. Alpengeist is incredible for the first half, including the wildest cobra roll on earth, but is a snore the second half, unless you ride in the back on a hot day.

When did you see God?

Sunday they must have switched to putty wheels because it crept through those inversions slower than my great grandma on her walker. Talon is my least favorite B&M invert. I found the invert God in Tampa.
