I Have a Choice, Where Should I Go

Goose I have to chime in here. Well, PKI and SFGAm are two of my favorite parks. I think that they both are great at providing atmosphere and customer service. The coaster breakdown that d7 gave is pretty good though I do have to say that Iron Wolf is one of the better stand-ups that I've been on. Knowing that you are an SFWOA-ite, Viper and the impulse will remind you very much of Villian and S:UE. One of SFGAm's flumes, Logger's Run, is pretty unique as it has a double down drop. Personally, if I could only go to one, I would pick PKI, but that is becuase I've been to SFGAm all my life. For you though, I think you would be better served hitting SFGAm. When you do, especially if you go two days, eat one day at the Farmer's Market and the other day at Mooseburger Lodge. The burgers at ML are simply the best!

You're making the right choice by hitting SFGAm. It's tough to have to miss the Beast and SoB, my two favorite woodies out there, but I have to disagree with an earlier post because my experience shows that PKI's lines are BY FAR the worst around. SFGAm's can get bad, but on a weekend you're looking at a wait no longer than 1 hour for anything except B:TR. At PKI, on the other hand, the SoB is consistently at least 90 min and we waited an incredible 3 hours once for the Beast (that's obviously a record for us). Plus, both the SoB and especially the Beast are prone to shut-downs because of various problems.
I would say go too PKI, but the final decision will be up to you. Son of Beast should be running in tip-top shape for the 2001 season, along with it's big daddy the Beast.
The new 7th portal 3-D show sounds cool for the upcoming season, along with the new family coaster, and Wild Thornberry's Water Flume.
I know this is not a coaster, but Drop Zone is a great drop ride, and I think better than some coasters. Anyway, have fun at which ever park you decide to go too.
I have been to both parks and i can say definitly go to SFGAm. SOB is a fantastic ride and the other coasters and rides are all good but great america has much more variety and fun coasters. SFGAm isn't as weel themed as most parts of PKI but the have much more to do there. SFGAm is also home to the world's greatest coaster, raging bull!
Goose,

The Beast may be overrated to some folks but it's still a major draw for me. That's the reason why I went down there this past summer. Not for Sonny, but for Papa. But being a fellow Ohioan as yourself, you can get to PKI anytime. It's only a three and a half hour drive down I-71 to get there.

SFGAm, on the other hand, wins hands down. Though I think Racer at PKI is much better than American Eagle, the park has a good assortment of thrill rides. Raging Bull simply rules with Viper a very close second. Add in Batman, Giant Drop, the cool light tunnel on Demon, the theming of the entire park (especially Southwest Territory and Hometown Square) and a larger variety of food, SFGAm is the place to go.
