I am SOOOO Pumped!

In 24 short days, at this very moment, I will be on a bus for a 20 hour ride to Walt Disney World for my High School Marchign Band's 2003-2004 season band Trip. We will be staying from April 15-20 at All-Star Music. On April the 18th, we will be in the Magical Music pre-parade thing at the Magic Kingdom, so, if you're in the orlando area, come support a fellow poster. If you'll be there, I won't give away the name of my high school for security reasons, but I will tell you our school colors are burgundy and gold and I play the snare drum in the drumline, just incase you'll be there. This is so awesome, because I was just at Disney a few months ago, and now I'm going back!

Also, I've never been to WDW this time of the year, so i would like to know what crowds are like, and any rides that are under rehab during this time.

There will be lines. Enjoy the wait.

You will be there right after Easter so expect it to be pretty busy. Lots of families tend to visit during that time, but usually the week after Easter isn't as bad as the week before...

I don't understand the "giving away my school name for security reasons" part. Just out of curiousity, what security reasons?

I am with Phantom, the SAX line kicks butt, but the drums are just as cool. :-D

Drummers are by far the coolest in the band, I should know, i played snare as well. Have fun, makes me wish we went on trips like these when I was in high school. We were invited to WDW every year but my director always turned it down, he didnt want the responsibility of all the kids I guess.

Remember the band is just a drumline without the Sopranos! Trumpets are always the best (and are God's instruments as they will sound before his second coming. ;) )

Anyone on here do DCI during the summer?

Actually low brass kicks @$$:). My school's band is leaving for Orlando in 8 days. We're going to Wet 'n' Wild, USF and IOA. I know next year our director wants us to go to Cedar Point.

There is an argument over which "section" of the band is the coolest?!?!

I can top that - I made it to the state band for (yeah, you gessed it) percussion.

Hehe, I'm not doing High school band simply because they do so many trips.

5,000 a year to be in a geeky band? Sheesh.

A true [and sad] story:

My first year of Junior High [7th grade] I signed up for Marching Band. On the first day of class the teacher asked me what instrument I played. I replied, "Piano." Needless to say I dropped out and found a different class ;)
