Hydra is complete!

Here's a link to Dorney's site with the Hydra pics. I just wonder why they blurred the one sign the Ironworkers put on the final piece of steel. I highly doubt it had anything bad on it. It probably had the Local # and possibly the erection companys name on it. Especially since you can see AmQuip on the boom of the crane.

OMG...check out the drop into the second flat spin!
Looks AWESOME!! Can't Wait.

Roller Coaster's=Adrenaline
I still love that there's no brake run...just one element right after the other, non-stop...that's how coasters should be made! :D

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

It's sad that a longer ride than IJ:ST is complete before we even have track on site.

Teenage,

There is many reasons for that though. Hydra construction started before IJ even broke ground. Also, Hydra isn't going to have all the theming and whatnot that is included in the construction of IJ. The theming aspect of IJ is going to play a huge part in the overall package, just as much as the actual coaster does. Some of that stuff needs to be started before any of the track is installed.

Hydra does look amazing. Some of those pics of the jo-jo look downright sick. I can't wait!

this looks like a really fun little coaster...
You've just got to love the way they put 3.5 inversions, each of which are unique and extremely cool-looking, in a straight line for direct sensory comparison.

I wonder if they will use re-designed trains for it though.
The jojo-roll and some of the cobra roll look like they might be a more pleasant experience without possible headbanger-OTSRs.

It's beautiful! Can't say I blame you Danny for being late to school to see the last piece added. I think the school science/math classes should've had a field trip to Dorney that day. ;-)

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
There WILL be OTSRs.

Down is the new up.
Hmmm, I always thought that on a construction project, the ironworkers place the American flag at the highest point, not the last piece added. But maybe it's different for coasters than for reg'lar builidngs.

I thought I saw a picture of the flag draped on the track when they capped the lift.

Check out this awesome shot of the corkscrew:

Unless it's just the angle, the corkscrew appears to be pretty unique, just like the rest of the ride.

I sure hope they do some touch up paint on those spots that appear to be rust.

Um, thats where the steel was welded together. Of course it will be painted over. This is Cedar Fair not Six Flags.............

I think its a combo of the angle, and that the entrance and exit are probably at different elevations, so the first half is on a smaller scale then the second half of the element. The pics on the official site show what I mean better.

i like the count down timer they have on thier page, that is sweet.

I'm just glad that we're not seeing the usual floorless design techniques this go-round. It isn't another mega-floorless that might switch up one inversion for a different element. What I mean is that the whole ride is not using the same overdone maneuvers the mega-floorlesses, and even mini-floorlesses, use. Not loop-zero g roll-interlocking corkscrews with one of two more elements thrown in. Nice to see a whole new layout with cool inversions, even if some of them have the strangest names out there. Let's hope it packs a punch.

I like the shift key people have on "thier" keyboards. It's sweet.
