airtime for everyone

You call a park that maintains incredible attendance and a fiercely (sp?) loyal fanbase when it is at least 30 min. from the nearest interstate, 90 min. from the nearest major city, 90 min. from the nearest major airport, and has rock-solid financials in a time when many parks are struggling (not to mention park chains) nothing special? Sorry, you may not like it, but that doesn't mean it's not something special. I can't stand Penn State, but I will admit that their last football season was something special.

You summed that up perfectly.

Dragster,

I was there all three days, I didn't think it ran all that bad. I did see all four trains being used once during the whole weekend, but most of the time it was two. It did break down quite a bit but it seemed like they had it up and running soon after. Personally I think superman had just as much downtime.

I was there on Friday and all day Sunday. I rode it on each day. On Friday, There were originally three trains running, then it broke down because one of the censors on the left side wasn't working so the trains would not go into the station. They repaired that, then they had a problem with a train on the other side and they took it off the track. Then it tested and did not make it over the hill, so it was re-set. Then they moved everyone to one side. Four hours after I walked on to small line, I was finally on the ride. When I went back on Sunday, only two trains were running, and It took me three hours to get on the ride. I actually got a sunburn waiting on line. After that I went to guest relations to complain, and they gave me 3 "flashpass" cupons so I got to go on Superman (which also had a three hour line that I didn't have to wait on).

Kingda Ka at midnight is AWSOME.
First censors ruin the Howard Stern show, now they're breaking Kingda Ka! What will the FCC get their hands on next!?!?

F the FCC!

(I love this thread ... )

Alright. Thanks guys. Would you recommend getting there right away and riding it first thing so I am not standing there all day?

From what I saw of last weekend's lines/operations, you might need to go with the "Running of the Bulls" (Toro joke) and head straight to the Q-bot line...

(/Insert 8-page discussion of the moral turpitude brought on by the abuses of capitalism here...)

Going directly to Ka *might* work, but only if the ride runs at park opening, which isn't guaranteed by ANY means...just a thought.

Brett - Who listens to Stern nowadays anyway? Mancow is still free and is absolutely brilliant.

Hippies make the best lov....er, friends. Who else is ALWAYS going to have snacks on hand? :)

Ka? Sure, I hope to ride it this year (unlike last year)...once or twice. This Bull coaster, it has got *my* attention... ;)

...and with Chilla: Batman open, Joe C. can have the Nyquil queue all to himself while Tina races for the sky...(SO happy I don't have to pay royalties)... ;)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Who listens to Stern? Me and 3,999,999+ other folks who subscribe to Sirius and recognize that Mancow is an unfunny hack and feel that the government has no right to tell us that we can't hear "potty words" because it's easier to protect the children by regulating content rather than pointing out the tuning dial.

... that and Pittsburgh has David Lee Roth I think ... I don't know, I haven't listened to terrestrial radio in 4 months and couldn't be happier. I'll take my radio with bands I want to hear, not the ones record execs want me to hear, with no commercials and true freedom of speech.

If you think Mancow is funny, I have a moldy orange in my fridge that would make you die laughing!

We were there Friday and Saturday. It ran but not well. They would launch a few trains and then there would be a delay. We entered the station with a q-bot at 5:40 and waited for a front seat ride until 9:55. We were only 14 trains back from the front when we entered. Do the math 14 trains x 3 stations operating - That means that in 4 hours 15 minutes 42 trains were launched. Not much capacity there.

Saturday we entered the line with a qbot at 3PM and launched at 3:40 but we were just third from the front for row two. Again the math. Two stations = 6 launches in 40 minutes. Maybe a little better than Friday but far from good.
