Yeah, what rollergator said...
I should add really quick that the speculation that that this ride will resemble EGF is just that, speculation. I was under the impression that the ride would be a bit of an original, and perhaps a bit closer to Goliath(SF Holland). I could be wrong though...

Hey Chris Godsey!
Your web site is tanfastic! Are you personally responsible for all the rides pictured on your web site or did they just happen to be saved in your "Cool Coaster Pictures" folder that you yoinked from the now-defunct Thrillride! web site? Any info would be great, I just had lunch with a Kumback Koasters rep and we were both baffled.
On a related note, those were the finest hash browns I had ever had, Waffle House or elsewhere!

According to the latest census data the Bay Area metro area [SF, San Jose, etc] has a population of just over 7 million. If PGA is getting 1.8 million of them, that's 25% of the population. Doesn't sound so bad to me.

Moosh, the Bay Area consist of over 30 towns and developments, you can't just count San Fransisco, Oakand, and San Jose. That's barely any of it, you're also cutting of the entire northern area up by Richmond(almost as many people as Oakland), and then you have Hayward, another 500,000 people. Don't forget California's old capital, Benicia, and then you have good old Marin County. Oh, and then there is the other half of Alameda County(Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, Castro Valley, San Leandro. You know the start of the commercial area before you start going down). Last, ther is the West Bay. You couldn't forget Stanford University ;) Yeah, I just wasted all that time writing stuff that only the fellow Fransicans and Frisco girls will understand.

But Mamoos, that still doesn't explain where you got the figure 7,000,000 million unless all these towns have nothing in them. Etc. doesn't make up for that way off figure. You mad me mad, made me knock over my Flutie Flakes!!!
WHOA!!! Where did you get these numbers from? 7 million is about right, if not on the high side. Hayward has 500,000?! Well, I live in Hayward, and the population is... 130,000! Oakland has about 400,000, and Richmond about 100,000. San Jose has about 1 mill, and SF less than 800,000. SF, the biggety O, and San Jo adds up to only a shade over 2 million. Benicia? That's a dinky little suburb waaay off the beaten path. In fact, it's V-Town's (Vallejo's) neighbor. Oh, and BTW there is no such thing as the "West Bay." It's called the Peninsula.
I think SFMW has a larger population base to choose from than PGA because they also draw from Sacramento, another 1.5 mill.

Vertie - in the end it really doesn't matter. With 1.8 million visitors a year it hardly sounds like "bay areans" are tired of the park. And if they are, PGA is giving them a few cool reasons to return in 2003 ;-)

Also, where in the park would the Super Saturator and Mini-hyper go? I just can't visualize the locations? Any thoughts?

I believe the plot behind Top Gun in the water has been cleared out for construction. I don't know where the queue would go though, since it's pretty far back, unless they tore down the Magic Moments theater?

I don't know for sure, but I think the Super Saturator will be placed over the current Nickolodeon water play area. It makes sense, and I saw some spray painted markings on the ground near there when I visited PGA in September.
No idea where the hyper's going to go, although I would bet on either near where Whizzer used to be or behind Top Gun.
-----------------
Bassistist is right about where the SS ride is going. The hyper will indeed span the area behind Top Gun, from part of the recently cleared boneyard, all the way up to the parking lot. The queue will start in the 50's area(across from Vortex's final fan turn), and the coaster should have a 50's theme similar to Xcelerator. This should open up an old debate we haven't had here in America yet. Are Intamin megas under 200ft hypercoasters or not? Or perhaps PGA will shock a few people when the final numbers are announced... ;)

Do Castro Valley and Palomaris Hill have to count as seperate? They aren't even considered town even though Castro Valley has 58,000 people. Hayward is 210,000 as of 2002 Financial Report + Castro Valley (58,000) + plus Palomaris Hill(3,000) + Cherryland(17,000) + Fairview(24,000)
