You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
FYI, those hamster/globe style gondolas at SFNE (then Riverside) came from Pacific Ocean Park when it closed. When you ride them you're riding a piece of history.
See...even a Mooshebag offers real info at times :)

I always found it interesting that Hershey used to have two different sky rides--the one-station 'Sky View' that's currently there, and a standard two-station version with enclosed cars. They actually ran close to perpendicular to each other and crossed paths. You can see them both on this map (#21 is still there, #13 was removed several years ago).
I remember the Hershey Park ones. The one, down by the Comet, is an out and back style one that didn't really take you anywhere. But the one at the start of the park would take you to then, the rear of the park, which is now by the Great Bear. Hershey also has the monorail too, so perhaps they just figured it was redundant? Not sure.
I've been going to Hershey since I was little and sadly have no recollection of this other sky ride whatsoever. Does anyone have a picture of it? I don't think they took it out because of the monorail as that doesn't take you anywhere either.
I just found these photos of Hershey's skyride (first two on the page). I read somewhere that it was sold to Dreamworld in Thailand, but I can't confirm it.
I love seeing pics of the 'Looper (my first 'upside-down' coaster) with its original paint job. Those are some of my fondest memories of Hershey.
On my last visit there I remember thinking, gosh, that's a sky ride station above the Kosher joint. I never did find the other end. Is it safe to assume it doesn't exist?

I'd say you're probably right to assume that...I just looked at more recent maps and I don't see any building that might have once been the other station. It looks as if it may have been right around Great Bear's station, which begs the question, does anyone know what year the skyride was removed?
Edit: I just found this history of the skyride, although I don't know how accurate it is. Looks like I was right about the Minetown station:
The Sky Ride was removed during the 1992/1993 off-season and found a new life at Dream Land Park in Thailand. The Minetown station was turned into a catering area and later removed in 1997 to make way for Great Bear's station. Rhineland's station still exists and is used as the Kosher Mart.
There's a picture of the Minetown station further down in the thread.
