I was really lucky to set a personal record this year with 22 new coasters.... I finally got to go to HersheyPark and Cedar Point this Year..... Went to CP this last (closing weekend) I was not expecting all the coasters to be open but really lucked out... Rode all but Jr. Gemini... I'm not sure if i'll ever boost my track Record this well in one year ever again but who knows.....
i know how you feel lauer....before this summer, i had 16 coasters on my track record...just PKD and BGW...then i discovered a little gem in southern MD called Six Flags America!!!!!! that started it...SFA, SFGAdv, Hershey....i did 45 coasters this summer!! and i am orderin my SFA 2002 pass next week, so next summer im hittin pretty much every SF park on the East coast..not to mention CP, PKI, PC, and hopefully some FL parks :) gota get that record rockin!! :) ----------------- ROLLERCOASTERS....BETTER THAN OXYGEN BABY!!!!!!
Before this year I hadn't been out of CP but got to PKI, Indiana Beach, Holiday World, SFKK, and SFGAM this year. You do the math. I added abotu 30 coasters to my list this year rode about 40. The things brothers (kneemeister) make ya do, of course he got 98 lol ----------------- Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?
I was fortunate to hit nearly 90 coasters in 2001....most of which were new to me :) I went from 135 a year ago to 212! It pays to live in Ohio! ------------- Moxie: Not quite Cola, not quite Root Beer, not quite Asphalt! Scale model rides: www.angelfire.com/oh4/tk173
So far I've ridden 94 coasters this year, with a trip to PKI coming up to add to that total (I stopped at PKI earlier this year on the way home from Stark Raven Mad, but only rode 3 coasters while there). 43 of those were new to me. I'm HOPING to get myself down to Florida before the year's out, but that may need to wait a bit.
2 years ago my track record was at 38, now it's at 122 and counting :) The past 2 summers have been good ones...
I rode 5 coasters this year.I live in Portland,Oregon.There aren't very many coasters nearby to ride.Here is my list of coasters ridden this year. (1)Dania Beach Hurricane,Dania Beach,FL(2)Orient Express,Butler Amusements(traveling carnival)(3)Ripper,Thrillville USA,Turner OR(4)Zoooom!(5)Looping Thunder,both coasters are at Oaks Park,Portland,OR
If only I wouldnt have skipped the Double Loop at SFWoA, The Mouse at Lakemont, and the Mine Ride at SFoG!! I got to 97, MagnumForce, unless my count is off. ----------------- 97 coasters for 2001. Drat I need to go to Fla before the end of the year, to break the century mark!!
Well, *this* year, I've ridden either 98 or 99 coasters (GregLeg, did we ride Wildcat any of the times we were @ CP?). I'll say about 50 of those were new to me (so about half old, half new). And that's out of about 142 coasters total. lata, jeremy --I was gonna ride Nitro....but then I got high! (adapted from 'Afroman')
Early 1970's to late 1980's = 15 coasters (? total "laps") Late 1980's to 1998 = 0 coasters (what the he** happened here?!?) 1999 = 9 coasters (7 new) (24 total "laps") 2000 = 17 coasters (11 new) (36 total "laps") 2001 = 43 coasters (32 new) (107 total "laps")
Grand Total = 65 coasters (176+ total "Laps")
(now you see why my wife calls me 'anal-retentive' keeping all of this on a spread sheet)
2001 was a very good year for new coasters... Thanks to trips to IOA, BGT, SWFla, Old Town, Dorney Park, Dutch Wonderland, and Six Flags America.

Somewhere in the 40-45 range. Around 25 - 30 of those were new. A first trip to Cedar Point, Worlds of Adventure, Seaworld Orlando, and Busch Gardens Tampa will do that though. ------------- Bob Hansen
