Its not THE Shivering Timbers, its just Shivering Timbers. And its pronounced Michigan's Adventure.
hehehe...you had to explain it? didn't she feel it? coming off of hill #3 and launching over 4 should be the definition of airtime. i am in awe of that sequence....
who wants to break in and take a couple of laps on it with me real quick? j/k
(quick edit)then there wouldn't be many posts on the board anymore...would this be good or bad?

I was there between 12 and 2. Had to work at 3. Nice way to relieve some stress before work.
MITrooper...you are right. That would be a bad idea now that I am thinking coherently.

I had my first visit to MIA on June 4th of this year. I had ben trying to get to MIA for some time as I'd heard high marks about the park and of course about Timbers as well. If what I experienced on June 4th is an improvement over pre-CF days than the park must have been sheer hell before it was purchased because my day at the park was awful thanks mostly to the terrible ride ops encountered all through the park - with the only exception being the Timbers crew. Every other ride op we [the 4 of us] encountered acted as if they wanted to be *anywhere* else but at work. The Zoomer, Corkscrew, and Wolverine crews had two speeds: slow and VERY slow. Dispatches were in the 8-10 min range. Even the mouse had more cars in the station than running the course.
The worst, however, had to be the young woman operating the kiddie steel coaster [Little Dipper?]. The credit whore that I am I wanted to ride it once. I got into the second-to-last seat w/ my friend Mike and the ride op began checking lap bars, starting in the rear and working her way up forward. In car 2 there was a young kid who was straddling the lap bar support pole so she released all the restraints to move him to one side. She then checked his bar and the one in the first car and dispatched the train with the rest of the lap bars UNLOCKED! Mike and I had to pull ours down to relock it on the lift. I wasn't worried about falling out but I was worried about the other kids.
The park does have potential. I see a mini Camp Snoopy being built inside the perimeter of the new train ride, and it looks like they're planning on finishing the pathway from Timbers around Woverine to the Shoot-the-Chutes. Once they do those things and add another benchmark coaster [the long-anticipated hyper perhaps?] I might consider returning to the park. But as it is now I have absolutely NO urge to return.

we went on 6/5, it was REALLY crowded with schoolkids....line-jumping is apparently a required course in MI schools....
But our ST crew was certainly NO better than the other crews.....never have I waited 45 minutes for a standard Arrow "screw". Zoomer was well-run (and FUN), but capacity is awful. I'm gonna GUESS, lol, that the same woman was operating the Dipper....;).
Overall, I agree, this park belongs with Knott's in the category of "WHY would I go back again, I don't crave THAT much abuse"....CF has a LOT of work to do....

I tell ya, if you aren't an enthusiast, Timbers will make you one.
Your right!
Timbers put the finishing touches on me becoming a enthusiast in 1998. (plus going to CP every year since 1990 helped a little bit to I'm sure! Growing up at CP, brings back fond memories!!)
