How has MA improved for 02?

Just wondering how MA is since CP added $5 mill to the park?

i didnt see it beforeCF took over, but the park is quite beautiful. I do think they need to build a new restroom on the far side of the park.

I had never been there before this year, but based on the stories I had heard in previous years, the park has improved greatly. I invisioned a concrete barren wasteland, with an old corkscrew with a messed station, and a couple of cool woodies.

What I got was an nicely landscape park, with something for everyone, including a great waterpark. Corkscrew had a nice enterance arch that looked like intamin track (sign of future attraction maybe?), and was freshly painted.

The only concern I had was the lack of shade; other than around the log ride I don't think there was a tree over 20 feet tall. It did look like many trees were planted in the off season, so the days of frying in the sun should slowly come to a stop.

Overall my visit to the park left me euphoric to say the least, because well... 45 laps on that air machine named Shivering timbers has a tendency to do that.

Visible changes include lots of bright colors. Corkscrew, formerly white, was painted orange and yellow, with arches at the entrance painted in rainbow colors. I saw new tables with umbrellas to help provide much needed shade.

The CP Dodgems brightened up the midway in yellow and red. Also added were two go cart tracks (one for adults, one for children). Across the lake was Rip Cord and Hydro blaster. Next to Timbers is a new train station. It's a short ride for now, but it's to be expanded and themed in the future.

Lots of new landscaping, including new fencing and trees. I'd heard that many trees were destroyed in a storm a couple years back.

Yes as a matter of fact, many of the trees were lost in a storm that hit in May of 1999. Those arches were painted to match Corkie...they are orange, gold and teal. Looks like the Miami Dolphins plane crashed into it or something...weird.

You also forgot the On-ride photo for Shivering Timbers they changed the arcade in the front to a snoopy store, new restrooms and concesions in the water park. I am happy with the new changes!

There are three park improvemnets I hope they add next year. More shaded areas to eat, a path from Adventure Falls to Timbers & Wolverine Wildcat and a bathroom some where in the vicinity of Shivering Timbers.

On-ride photo on ST? Where on the ride is it?

In the waterpark, FUN added bathroom facilities and a snack bar named "Beach Bites". These are located near Snake Pit.

Onride photo is entering into the helix. There's also a neat trick you can do with that. Cover the reflector on the back left side of a car and it doesn't take the pic. We actually had 3 rows do it one day, and the hotshots people ended up calling maintenance :). Yeah...easily amused, but hey I learn these things after riding so much.

Although I'm still convinced that the entire 5 mil went into the Snoopy Botique ;)

There is a bathroom in the vicinity of ST...it's in the Wagon Wheel building next to T-Bolt and Trapeze.

More food choices! Carts are popping up all over the place. A few were added last year, but now we have boardwalk fries. A smoothies stand was added near the Corkskrew in the past few weeks. Did anyone notice the second train back by the employee parking area in the waterpark? Yup. They will need 2 so that the wait won't be so long when the train runs to the campground and waterpark from Timbers. I am just watching that area in the back about 100 yard from Adventure Falls. Seems there are always construction trucks there working on something.

BTW Timbers was awesome today. Crew wasn't the same as Kara had yesterday so it was a little slower loading. But I got 13 in about 1 1/2 hours.

[edit] Yeah Matt, I saw...and I talked about it with Ben and Jay. It's not as major as I thought. No guests complained, just a maintenance guy said something. I actually threw the thread into the depths of nowhere because I didn't want anyone to get in trouble. Drop me a line if you're going anytime soon...

[radio edit]well that's good to hear kara. did you show up today or did you just call the boys? i left when they took ol'blue off the track. had my 20 for the day and broke 300 so I was good to go. I wish you could have been on that ride, but i'll make sure you know when i'll top 500. if i get out of work early tomorrow(today i guess) then i'll be at the park about 4.

And he's riding tomorrow, working Tuesday and Wednesday, and riding on Thursday...what dedication . However, God er...um...Jay is the efficency king of the world and makes the crew complete, atleast in my opinion . He's a former CP employee, what else do you expect?

You guys should let me know when you are going to be there! It would be nice to meet a few of the regulars so I don't have to ride as a single rider when I don't bring my daughter. I have seen MITrooper1 and Kara but never met you. I don't know who the rest of you are but would like to meet you. The ride needed atmosphere today. No one was yelling in the station after the ride. I tend not to when I am on my own.

Edit--I agree about Jay. He is great when he has control. Jay adds some excitement! He does the best spiel...very complete.

I was a yelling fool today..hehehe. Many times alone...oh well, I love that pile of wood. Kara....our timing sucks here...hehehehe. Ben and I will team up tomorrow then. I'm going to try and be there each evening this week to ride. Hopefully be at 500 before you leave for Cali. :)

I figured it was you, i just wasnt sure, I was there with my girlfriend too though so i didnt want her to be jealous or anything, which i doubt she would be, but i didnt want to take any chances. ill say hi next time though.

Wow, we really have a bunch of MIA followers!

Two months? ROTFL. Okay...so little known fact number 1: Ben worked Timbers for 2 days before actually riding it for the first time. He had to be talked into it!! Little known fact #2: he's never been to a park other than MIA. Anyway, the other day I came to the park and he was so excited because he saw the coaster shows on the Travel Channel. I tell ya, if you aren't an enthusiast, Timbers will make you one.

You go! I will seriously laugh forever and ever if I come back from Cali and you are at like 1,000. No, thats not a challenge! Matt you're going to want to go Sunday...just trust me on that.

Also, I'm laughing out loud at our skills of posting. This is TOO entertaining.

hey timberguy...i was sitting behind you and your daughter at TFest on a run...i said to your daughter to put her hands up, and that I would catch her if she slipped out. to my surprise her little arms went flying up into the sky...i just lol all the way through the ride. gutsy lil girl you got there... a mini ST Chick in the making...but will the original be willing the relinguish her throne when the time comes? ;)
