How come Impulses don't have On-ride photos?

I know that V2 at SFMW doesn't have one and I'm not sure if the others do or not but how come V2 doesn't have one?

Park's decision to have an On-Ride Photo...Ask them.
What kind of camera do you need that can take 14 accurate photos of a train going past a single point at 70mph?  I believe that is why.
No, a camera can catch them at that speed.  Look at MF, FoF's, Hypersonic.  I don't think they would sell as good, it being a smaller ride.

or it could be the fact that the train passes by that point like 3 times, so it would take 3 pics, unless they programmed it...
Hey, Nitro can catch the cars just fine as they fly by at 80 mph.  MF's camera works, too.  Chiller seems to get everyone.  See a pattern?

Anyways, it's just that it's an Impulse coaster...for one thing, the cameras are triggered by the train going over a sensor, making the camera take pitures.  Considering that Impulses ride over the same sections of track about 6 times, it wouldn't work out too well.  Also, it's such a small ride.  What would be great is maybe have a camera per row on the holding brake to catch everyone's reaction when it bites!

Coaster131 you are wrong...the only point at which those coasters ever reach that speed is on the first drop.  When those photos are taken the trains are not going anywhere near that fast.
On MF i bet it's going at least 70mph when it takes the picture.

Hey!  What if each car on the train had a video recorder/camera on it.  Then, bystanders could watch the screens and then hit a button when they wanted to take the picture.  That way, riders would be unsuspecting because they could possibly get a different picture location than an earlier ride.  Catch my drift?
Oh...I bet!!!*rolls eyes*
Okay, well how about this, FoF is going 50mph when the picture is taken (right after launch). Since V2 launches more than once it isnt going the full 70 on the first launch, the pic could be taken there.

As for the "pass the same point" mulitiple times thing, Face/Off passes the same point twice and *it* has an onride photo.

Bottome line, the parks just didnt want one.

Mr. Freeze is going about 70 MPH when it takes the picture (in the tunnel), so I don't really think it is about the speed. Like 2Hostyl said, it's all up to the parks to decide.
Nitro has to be going at least 70 for the pic

Do any inverted rides have on-ride photos? I know BTR used to but they never seemed to come out good.

Maybe because of the design of the train it's hard to get both sides of the train in one picture. Most people would want a picture with the others they rode with.

Just an idea. I have no idea if this really has anything to do with it.

Numerous Inverted coasters have on-ride photos.  Raptor, both Top Guns, and more.

Well let's see MF hits the final brakes at around 64-65 MPH (This was on the discovery channel) Considering that the train will lose at least 3MPH on that final turn around than that means the train is going about 68MPH when it's picture is taken. If you have ever seen an on-ride photo of a person on MF you will see that it is clear as day. Also...V½ (I prefer that name;)) first launch isn't even 70MPH it takes a few passes..
SOMEONE HELP! He is choking...probably from eating his words..

I think we will see one next year.... They should somehow
attach it to the vertical spike!

If CP gets an impulse it will probably have one.

Also some inverts that I know of that take your pics are Talon,Great Bear,BTR,Raptor,Montu,Alpengist,Dueling Dragons,Volcano and some SLC's.

For you people who think that you can't take pics of things going 70, take a photography class. Different cameras are designed for different things, and even a simple SLR camera could take a pic of something going 70. It's all about shutter speed and f-stop. I'm sure the parks have much more complex cameras than that which are even more accurate, so they would have no problem getting a pic.

Now, for you who are talking about the multiple trippings of the on-ride photo, easy. Have it set where the sensor is tripped and resets only after the ride cycle is complete. It can't be that hard to do. I bet I could program it myself in BASIC, one of the simplest languages there is. Of course, I would need a small refresher course, it's been a couple years since I used it.

Hey, SFGAm management, can I buy a couple cages of Sky Whirl?

The problem with throwing it up on the vertical spike is that the train isn't moving. In order to catch everyone when the back break grabs, you'd have to have 14 different cameras.
