How about adding a spot for people to enter what their home park is under the account information.

Just add your homepark where it says location on your member profile.

I had that before. This would give people the option to list where they live as well as what their home park is.

You can put both items there. It fits.
Uhh...it doesn't always fit; see the thread "error -- can't update personal info" (or something like that) for details. There's a 50 character max in the "home town" line, and that's not enought to put both the location and the home park in. So back to that separate line for home park idea...I'm all for it.
It will fit if Jeff or ShiveringTim makes the max number of characters a larger number...

What is so hard about fitting where you are from and your homepark? Mine is Elgin, Ill., SFGAm. That didnt take up 50 characters.

What about people who live in Milwaukee, WI or Kissimmee FL... not everyone lives in a town with a name 5 letters long or near a park as easy to abbreviate as Great America...
O.K. Kissimme FL.= 11 characters, Say you use Walt Disney World as your home park. That equals 15 characters. That is a total of 26 characters. So I ask again, what is so hard about this?
Hee hee hee. I think Chitown has got you beat.

System enhancements are Jeff's dept. I just keep an eye on the coaster and park databases.

Hmm...this could get interesting...let's come up with a combo that won't fit! ;) Also, Chitown, spaces count as characters. I know that's irrelevant in the stuff you posted, but just so you know...
I live in Fayetteville, AR: 15 spaces without the comma. Silver Dollar City is is 18, add Branson, MO (SDC isn't known like a SF park, you know): 10 spaces without the comma. Add Home Park: 9 spaces. Add 'em up and it's...52! There! Fit THAT in the line!
Just kidding, my info can easily fit, but it'd be more straightforward if there was a separate category.

Home Park: Silver Dollar City, Branson, MO
Why not add a link on the park pages to make the park your homepark, similar to adding the park
to your Personal Buzz. Just a thought.

Howabout this one:
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales, United Kingdom-Home Park: Chessington World of Adventures
That's 126 characters and that is a real place. Seriously!

O.K. You got me there. LOL!!!!
I still thinks this is a good idea.

As do I. However, SFGL is much closer to my house than The Point but I call them both my home park because I visited them equally growing up. The max character should be 50 or more to accomidate situations such as these.

What good will this do if it gets implemented? If you want to list your park rather than the city you reside in, go for it. Why do you need both? If you want to know when someone is going to be at a park, just use the calendar. Who cares where 4500 people's home parks are anyway? How does this improve Coasterbuzz? I guess I just don't understand why anyone wants this feature. Can someone explain it to me?

I could get my location, homepark, and fav coasters wood & steel in there. It works.
