Holiday World announces new for 2005 attractions

Paula - if you're checking here I have a question regarding the addition of the second train.

When you added the 2 PTCs on Legend the station was moved to accomodate a longer brake run. What changes -- if any and you're able to comment -- will be made to the brake run, station, and lift approach to accomodate the second train?

Thanks ;)

Thanks Shaggy for posting this. And thanks again Paula and the good folks of Holiday World. :)
I don't think any major changes will need to be made on the Raven, or at least nothing like Legend had.

The transfer track can go outside of the station on the flat track before the lift (which has always looked like it was just waiting for a transfer track). Also I'm sure the braking system will be changed so it's automatic, but they shouldn't need to change it's length or anything. I've seen them stop the train at the end of the brake run before and it had plenty of room to spare.

Too bad I won't be living in Louisville next summer still!

Wow, the water park doubling in size. That is going to be huge. I wonder how many years it is going to take to reach their goal.

Can't wait to visit again next year. :)

So, is the Revolution a Dartron Zero Gravity?

Yes.

In spite of John Lennon's lyrics, "We all want to change the World," we thought it best to replace the Roundhouse with the updated, but very similar ride.

Plus...it fits!

Thanks, Paula

Paula, will the new wave pool replace the Wave, and if that is the case, will it still be facing the same direction or will it be swung a little to the right so that the wave building will be facing more directly away from AmaZoom and Bamboo Chute?

This is an addition, not a replacement.

Bahari will be located on six acres to the east of Jungle Jets.

Thanks, Paula

One last question, Understanding there is no SRM and the reasons behind it. Does that go for all enthusiast events or gatherings at HW for 2005? Or has that decision been made yet?

Chuck, understanding either way but would like to Know the answer.

Ok, someone will need to help me with my directions there at the park. Which way is east in Splashin' Safari? If I was to guess, Holiday World is West of Splashin' Safari and Jungle Racers is the northern most point right now of Splashin' Safari...is that correct? So if that is correct then Bahari will go where the woods are now?

Confused :(

Glad to hear it is an addition and not a replacement.

Thanks for the info. I mentioned in my "Roundhouse Site" thread a Zero Gravity would be a good replacement. Was I an inspiration? If so, have I been an inspiration to other additions, for example: Swings as I mentioned a few years ago?

I just want to feel loved :)

I wish more parks had Round-Ups. Nice to hear that you're keeping that kind of ride in your line-up.

Oh yeah... the second Raven train is pretty cool too ;) Will it be identical to the one you have now or will you be going for a color other than red?

Well, I guess I'll get my last Roundhouse ride tomorrow and then start looking forward to next year. *** Edited 10/8/2004 1:14:58 PM UTC by Frantic Ferret***
Having been to the park many times and knowing everyone there I'll I have to say is, They made the right decision on everything at the park. Plus in the origial plans Raven had a program to run two trains plus it had an area for the transfer track for when they do add it. One thing I'd love to see is the original plans for the helix at the end of Raven. Money was tight so the helix was nixed.
I never heard of a planned helix for the Raven. Besides, I think that'd be a moot point now, seeing as how Legend ends with a helix that really can't be beat. I'd rather HW leave their coasters as they are (after adding that Raven train, of course) and build another one in the future ;)
The legend don't end with a helix. LOL It ends with the four corners of death.

Well, true... ;)
Mmmm...four corners of death...**Homer Simpson gurgling noises**

Here's a question that popped into my head regarding the park's expansion.

How much land does the park own, and do they have any height limitations on their rides?

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
This is a direct quote from Paula Werne from the http://www.onridecentral.com interview:

"We're located on 100 acres. We have enough land to nearly double in size."

It's not the acreage... it's how you use it that counts. Look at Indiana Beach and Morey's Piers.
True, but Holiday World's charm is different than Indiana Beach's. I'd rather see Holiday World spread out rather than move up.

Don't get me wrong, I REALLY like IB. One of my favorite parks. Ditto Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which has a similar approach. But I don't think I want to see Holiday World take that approach.
