Holiday World announces 2004 additions

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Holiday World today announced $3.2 million in improvements to their water park, Splashin' Safari. The project includes Jungle Racer, ten slides that allow riders on mats to race to the finish line. It also include Jungle Jets, a "sprayground" of 160 different water jets. The area will include a new restaurant, restrooms and deck. Also, based on guest feedback, the park is adding a conveyor system to lift Zinga rafts, smoking will be restricted to designated areas in both parks, a nursing area for mothers in the first aid station, more lockers and family restrooms in the new facility.

I got no problem with smoking sections as long as there is one near Raven and Legend.

Chuck, who kinda hopes there are more sections than Pepsi Oasis's

P.S. I'll give it another effort to quit over the winter

I can NOT believe it, someone else who thinks Run DMC is the best Christmas music...

BTW, Universal complex and BGT have also been smoke-free at least since our new legislation went into effect, July 1, 2003 I think...people still occasionally smoke outside of the designated areas, but generally people are very receptive and polite about it when reminded.

Now, where do we find parks (outside of Indiana) that are "rudeness free"....

Mistakes were made, others are to blame...

They have Halloween all season. They need to invent a new holiday to celebrate in the shoulder season just for them.

"Step on that lapbar and make it nice and tight!"

Almost every song for the Jungle area is a good tune. Paula is there any other vacant land for expansion like smaller rides besides the 90 acres you've mentioned such as in the Christmas & the 4th of July sections?*** This post was edited by Pink Floyd Fanatic 10/28/2003 4:52:33 AM ***

How about Oktoberfest instead of Halloween since they have a Halloween themed section. That would be more for an additional few weeks that the park would be open in October and not a new themed section.

Thanksgiving seems like a great idea for a new themed section of the park if they decide to do that in the future.

Just like SDC, I wonder if they'll have a smoking area right in front of a cemetery (If they have one, I'm preaty sure they do if they have a Halloween section). I just love how Silver Dollar City had strategically placed one of their smoking sections in front of their themed 1880s cemetery. My guess is that they placed it to remind people that if they keep on smoking they will be in a cemetery soon.

Holiday world rocks! My family loved it so much that they wanted to go back just for one day all the way from Chattanooga!
