Holiday World 2012

Can you even build a decent custom steel coaster for less than $12 million these days? That seems like too much for Holiday World. I suppose the Euro-Fighters in smaller configurations would do it.

Sky Rocket came in well under that.
That being said, I filled out the survey to suggest a Vekoma Boomerang just for fun.

Money doesn't seem to be an issue. After all, they are pulling in over a million visitors annually.

And I've seen parks with that attendance close in one year.

I think BomBora at Lagoon would be a perfect fit for Holiday World by nicely bridging the gap between Howler and Raven. It's a surprisingly fun, extremely smooth, comfortable steel coaster which the whole family can ride together. They could put it in the Fourth of July section and play patriot music for the onboard-audio (William Tell Overture maybe?).

My over thought was adding something similar to Thirteen at Alton Towers in the Halloween section, maybe squeezed in-between Raven and Legend (might have to move the Dive Show to Fourth of July).

I think a Gerstlauer Spinner would be great for the park.

I'll second that idea, Andy; would be a perfect fit. Though personally I would love to see a flyer along the lines of, say, Manta. :)

What is this, TPR? lol

I'm thinking a Runaway Mine Train would be perfect. But I'm an Arrow mine train fan.

That would be sweet. I'm sure they could come up with one heck of a mine train. I probably won't be back to Spain for a while and I'm missing me some Diablo rides.

Whatever next coaster they get, it will be steel and it will be a looper. I know that much for sure. The dippin dots guy in Thanksgiving told me so.

Billy

I heard the same from the sunscreen attendant ;)

What about a looping Mine Train? The first in the world! Now THAT sounds interesting to me, and doable for HW.

Uggh. The looping mine train idea gives me bad visions of Indiana Jones et le Temple du Peril. They might as well go with a Schwarzkopf if they feel the need to have a loop. This beauty is for sale.

One can only dream.

And only 950,000 Euros, what a bargain!

I suggested a Maurer Söhne spinner for a good fit on the survey. Feels less like a mouse and a bit more freestyle. That said, I sure wouldn't mind some type of terrain steel, ala Phantom's Revenge, only on a smaller scale.

I personally prefer the Gerstlauer spinners over the Maurer Söhne spinners. I like looking at the others freaking out on the ride. They feel a little safer too.

Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.

Apparently in the case of that Schwarzkopf if you build it they won't come...
$950K euros is a good deal if you take out the 950K to move and rebuild it! It probably would've been a success if they offered free sunscreen!!
Is it me or does that ride look semi-portable, not permanent?

Personally, I think HW's budget for their steel coaster will surprise some. When they ask in the survey if height or inversion count are important, it is because that is on the table. They were pretty clear they intend to expand the park a lot in the coming years. I think it would be a mistake to assume the ride must be small, cheap, or tame.
