So I'm thinking Holiday World's new attraction for next year is going to be rather large since they are announcing it in August, which is earlier than last year's announcement of September 22. Any ideas what it could be? My guesses are a large flat ride, or another large expansion of the water park. Could we be seeing a new Holiday Added? Easter? Also, where would this ride, or Holiday go? Let the discussion begin!

Skyride?! Train!? Enterprise!? (do they still make em?)
An out and back!? Family coaster!? Spinning Mouse!?
Who knows, but I'll be there to see what ever it is next year! I heard somewhere it won't be the looper everyone is waiting on, though...
Indeed, thanks for the link! I knew it was out there and they were doing the survey, I was just to lazy to go look for the link. :)
A B&M hyper with clamshell restraints in the same vein as Voyage that follows the terrain would be absolutely epic, although a nice invert of equal length might be on the same level as well. I just keep thinking of Diamondback with maybe even more airtime (and hills) than you can currently get in the back few rows, which is quite a bit! Add the fact that it would be racing back around in the woods there, and man, that would be fun.

^Since desires are being aired ....
I would love to see HW get something along the lines of Magic Mountains Revolution (how it was built, not how it is now), the Mind Bender in Atlanta or Blue Fire at Europa Park.
Something unique like those, a combo of them. Something with charm and actual 'pacing'. We have PLENTY of Intamins and Beemers.... I mean, come on...
Sorry, the thought was still fresh on my mind and it just kind of spilled out once I started typing.
Blue Fire looks like a great coaster, but it doesn't strike me as very "Holiday World," though I don't know why. Haven't been on the other two either, but I think Mind Bender looks like the better of the two. But really, outside of Mack, Intamin, and B&M, where else are they going to go for something that isn't a wild mouse style? I don't see Vekoma doing something truly custom (in terms of layout beyond adjustments to fit the terrain) for some place like Holiday World.

If they're going for steel, though, why not go for something different, that can't be done (or is cost-prohibitive to do) with wood?
Very true. I guess I just don't see a coster that relies on inversions when I think of Holiday World. I would be interested to hear the reaction to a B&M invert with more traditional elements than inversions.

Assuming they're not going for record breakers, or a complicated design, a standard production Mega-Lite would be just perfect. The one at Happy Valley Shanghai ROCKED. One of my favorite rides!
What they NEED, is a small mouse style coaster for the kid that is too big for Howler but isn't tall enough for Raven. There is about a 2 summer period gap that such a ride would cover. As it is now my niece is bored with Howler, but too small for Raven, for the 2nd year in a row. She would be all over a mouse coaster (I know because she rode Big Thunder and Space Mountain).
Still can't believe that the park hasn't put in some form of steel coaster to fill that gap. Was just there for Memorial Day Weekend and for the 5th year in a row, Sunday Wait time for Voyage in mid-afternoon was under 5 cycles. Raven was a walk-on after 12:30.
Some day it's going to be packed on Mem Day Weekend, but until then, woo hoo!

2012?
I'm curious as to what makes you think they are querying for 2013.
I'm looking back over some of my notes for the Voyage, and based on the timing of certain events back then, 2013 is a possibility, but by no means a certainty, and in fact might be cutting it kind of close...

I am very excited for the prospects of a new coaster in 2013. As far as 2012 goes I hope to see a big flat ride go in. An S&S screamin' swing would be a great fit for Holiday World. And knowing Holiday World, it would probably be the world's tallest or something epic.

If the park was to clone Silver Dollar City's Powder Keg and place it somewhere back in the woods, I would...uh, do something...uh...crazy. With joy.

In order to do that, they'd first need to hire Premiere to build a water coaster, wait 4 years and then hire S&S modify it into a launched coaster with a spiffy transfer platform. :-)

Yeah baby! Hopefully I'll be riding that bad boy next week!
The pauses/pacing of these older rides is one of the things that really 'makes' em. HW already has 3 ballz to the wall FAST paced rides.

The topic referenced 2012 and 2013 comes after 2012.
Don't read any more into it than that.
