I'm one who is a FIRM believer that one can already tell CP's making BIG plans for the upcoming 2002 season that are VISIBLE (not just paper work)! Anyone else notice this?
We all know CP is got rid of the aquarium. But why? We all know the stadium is getting torn down. But why? (mind you these aren't meant to be answered because they are old).
The park gets NO (and I stress NO) crowds even on the busiest days over there. (anyone else watch the crowds over there?)
Hmmm what are those strange things popping up EVERYWHERE (and I mean everywhere...behind rides...in tree lines...behind a tree... Anyone sense a parameter fence, markings, etc?
Believe me folks it doesn't take a brain scientist to figure out that CP already has the plans and have already implemented them subtly...just like the moving of the train track. Why did they do that?
Like I said the hints and the plans are taking shape :) So sit back and enjoy!!

true.. I'm Sure Cp and most parks Make their coaster plans 2-3 yrs in advance. I'll Keep an eye open. whatever they are planning will be a welcome addition to this great park.
I was just at CP 2 weeks ago, and saw nothing out of the ordinary. The idea of the stadium and aquarium being torn down for the supposed boardwalk project, has been flying around for about 2-3 years now. The little things that you describe that have been popping up around the park (i.e., fencing along the beach - behind the Giant Wheel) has been in place since last year. The moving of the train tracks happened 2 years ago to accomodate a little thrill ride known as Millennium Force.

Umm that would be Energizer....
Sorry, but the "mystery" of the fence posts behind and near the Coliseum aren't really a mystery. Referring to the story last year, I posted on GTTP:
"I don't remember if I posted it as a news item or what, but they were originally going to gate off the area behind the Coliseum because it really isn't that pretty. The concrete posts were erected late spring 2000, but they ran out of time to finish the job."

That part of the park is really lame. If the sky tower and DT weren't there what's the point of even going over there. If the park overhauled the area it would be awesome. Throw in Johnny Rockets as a nice new addition to that section also raises some eyebrows.

NO NO NO I'm not talking about the fencing behind the Giant Wheel people! That's the obvious fencing. You'll have to climb up the Ballroom (snoopy playground side) and look around I guess to understand what this is. Follow the path around then down on the ground. And then Schwabinchen is in the way. BUT it still continues past it. I'm not talking about last year's thread, yes, I know about all that. Yes, I know about the whole boardwalk thread and rumors. They have done more overthere since all that has gone on, and most of it envolves the Schwabinchen...Let's say these pillars are a fence (if not for something else, oh, and I'm not talking about the ones behind the ferris wheel) Does anyone find it REALLY strange at the layout path? Two things have to be certain if something would follow this A)Snoopy playground will be smaller or this thing will go through it. b) Schwabinchen HAS to be moved in order for this thing to be built (assuming these markings and pillars are for something to be built and not layed)But either way it goes through were Schwabinchen sits. And possibly C) These markings and what not already go through an existing fence and end around the Pagoda? I have already compared last year's pics from the same area to this years (which I guess I should post for some of you to confirm this). :) More or less they added a some more pillars...farther away. Last year there was maybe 6 supports (or pillars) last I counted, and this year there are a heck of a lot more.
But the main thing is CP is working in this area more than any other area. Why close down that big of a section because it's "ugly" or slow? Hmmm what would make something beautiful and fast?

We are the keepers of the sacred words, Ni!, Peng!, and Nuuuuuwwwom!
Does anyone have a pic of that sign. I can't believe that they would give( what I think it is) it away that easily. We can only hope if it true.

I dont think Cedar Point puts out signs of their upcoming coasters till AFTER they have been announced...Someone correct me if Im wrong.

If you guys read Jeff's posts on this matter *very carefully*, he's constantly dropping hints as to what CP's next move will probably be. I can't believe people still haven't picked it up. All the hints you need are right there in Jeff's words.

Matthew, the fence line isn't odd at all...
There are a couple of pillars on the Kiddy Kingdom side of the Coliseum which indicate a gate or pedestrian opening adjacent to the Coliseum, there by the big transformer. The fence line runs behind the trees that line the Oceana midway, and the last post is up against the side of the Schwabinchen backstop. The next pillar is also right up against the Schwabinchen, and indicates a fenceline that crosses the path and ends up within inches of the Gazebo building. A third fenceline has already been constructed, albeit with smaller fencing than the posts would suggest, along the edge of the Peanuts Playground to a point between the rearmost pairs of doors leading into the Coliseum. A fourth fenceline extends from the Peanuts Playground to the Coliseum building, and these pillars have brackets for gate hinges. The area encompassed by that fencing includes the path between the Schwabinchen and the Coliseum, including a short segment of path behind the Gazebo, and the shaded lawn behind the treeline along the midway on the Space Spiral side of Schwabinchen.
It seems rather odd when you look at that no-traffic area; nobody goes back there, why would they want to fence that off? The answer comes with a ride on the Giant Wheel. There is a shaded area of about the same size fenced off between the aquarium and the stadium, with a few picnic tables and a couple of pop machines. I think what we're seeing between the Coliseum and the Schwabinchen is what will replace this employee refuge behind the stadium when the stadium and aquarium are demolished.
I don't think the fencing gives us anything to be excited about. But the area across the midway where no changes have happened yet...THAT is, in my opinion, the spot to watch.

WARNING: THIS POST MAY ACTUALLY INCLUDE SARCASM AND OR HUMOR. PLEASE CONSIDER BEFORE RESPONDING.
I was at CP on the 23rd of may and there was no sign.
It really says, "Thrust yourself into 2002 with massive air"?????
But in that area has any one noticed that they have taken more theaming out of Disaster Transport. This could be a sign that they are removing it. Plus with that rumor of CP liking the Rock N' Rollercoaster, The could be removing it and adding a indoor lim coaster by Vekoma or Premier. A new Disaster Transport.
