I said it above. Batman Knight Flight SFO, 142 Feet.
Could you point us to some info to confirm this? I think that estimate is a tad high. The highest I've ever heard it mentioned was 134 feet.
Not doubting you, just wondering why there is a lack of info on what has surely got to be one of the largest vertical loops around.

John, I assume you're referring to the record for # of loops, and not the original question of this thread concerning loop height?
Whatever the case, that ride looks like a serious batch of fun! Those flat rolls look like a blast! At first it looked like your typical elements, and some of them are, but the whole but the whole ride looks like a fun experience. I wish it was nearby!
It seems like alot of people have misunderstood my question...im not asking the tallest coaster that has inversions, or the tallest inverted coaster, im asking WHAT COASTER HOLDS THE RECORD FOR HAVING THE TALLEST INVERSION :)
I've been looking around, unless its one of X's inversions, i think its Volcano's sidewinder at 155 feet high.
I think Drachen Fire, when it actually existed, had a pretty high inversion (around 150 ft) directly after the lift hill.
Just thinking about that great coaster, I swear a tear is welling up in my eye.

No, it is only 110' high. What are you smoking? The tallest inversion belongs to Paramount's Kings Dominion's Volcano The Blast Coaster with it's peaking corkscrew spiral twist hybrid at a height of 155'. Six Flags Magic Mountain's Viper takes the title for the tallest vertical loop at 144'. Who said Alpengeist? The tallest inversion on that ride is the 110' immelman. Not even close...
And about Batman Knight Flight...in an information package sent from the park, it says the ride's tallest inversion, being its vertical loop, stands approximately 132' high. Superman Krypton Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas has its tallest inversion (vertical loop as well) at 114'.

"Okay, since Volcano is my #1 coaster, I must confirm that, to my knowledge, its Sidewinder is indeed the tallest inversion in the world. Now, I won't include Jubilee Odyssey in this list because I'm not 100% sure where it would fit in, but here you go:1. Volcano: the Blast Coaster, Paramount's Kings Dominion; 155'
2. Viper, Six Flags Magic Mountain; 140'
3. Superman Krypton Coaster, Six Flags Fiesta Texas; 135'Now that's the top 3 list to my knowledge, excluding JO as I already said. If I'm incorrect on anything, please feel free to correct me.

I would like to inform all of you that the Jubilee Odyssey's specs were in fact blown out of proportion by the park. After the completion of construction, the ride was found to be no taller than BGW's Alpengeist. And we know how the park claimed for it to tower 265' into the sky. Same with the rest of the ride. The proposed 200' vertical loop is in fact no taller than 120'. Speed as well, claimed to reach speeds past 85 mph, the ride barely hits 70 mph.

Ok, there we have it. That corresponds pretty much with the 134' mark I had.

Actually agent Johnson said Alpengeist and I believe him. For B&M coasters it seems like the first inversion is always 20-30 feet shorter than the lift hill height. And with Alpie topping at 196, I would guess that Immelman is pretty high. 110 feet sounds a lil short. But thas just my own reasoning...

God is Good!
no, trust me....the Immelman on Alpengiest is indeed less than 120 feet....see Alpie sits on a VERY hilly terrain. the top of the hill is 195 feet yes, but the drop is only 170 feet...and it drops literally onto the side of a steep hill, which is where the Immelman is. as far as Vassk's comment earlier about DF yes i do think that first corkscrew/vert loop was about 152 feet tall...too bad its scrap now :( and im in agreement with all others....V:TBC holds the inversion height record at 155ft :)

None of X's inversions are at a very high point in the ride. It half-flips you before the 200' drop, but you never go fully "upside down."
Too bad Xcellerator's "Top-Hat-style-hill" is not an inversion. That would have cleared this whole thing up easily!

Ugh. Ignorant people like you make me sick to the stomach. Alpengeist's vertical loop (its second inversion) is 106' tall. The immelman is 110'. So most of the people thinking Alpengeist has the tallest loop really don't have an idea. Montu's lift is 150'. But it's first inversion (vertical loop) is 106'. Ridiculous...

"Since Drachen Fire is listed as 150 feet tall it can't have had a 152 foot inversion."
Not true. If the lift is built on a tall hill
or a tunnel is used, the drop can be significantly higher than the the coaster height, and I think you would agree that an inversion only has to be smaller than the drop, not the height. This is not the case for DF, but it's still possible.

"Attention all Time Travel Commitee Members; the reasearch and development meeting will take place last friday at O-Three-Hundred hours. Do not be late."
I have no clue about this coaster right here but I am going to throw its name in here. What about Fuijiyama in Japan? I know it is a huge hypercoaster with inversions if I am correct. How tall are the inversions on it. I have no clue if they are high off the ground or if the inversions are after the drop and are low to the ground. I am probably completely wrong, but if anyone does know how tall the inversions are, I would really love to know.
