Hey Arrow! Nice job on the Olympic cauldron!

Definetly the best looking Arrow ever made :)

I agree it is an impulse.  Actually it was a joint venture between Intamin/Arrow and after the games they are going to complete the track - should be ready for summer.

That was the most beautiful structure I have ever seen in my life, besides the Statue Of Liberty.

Beer, My Baby, and Coasters. Is this a great country or what? ;)

Absolutely one of the greatest looking pieces of steel I have seen in a long time. Great job Arrow, along with the other designing firm and the International Commission of the Olympics. Wonderful.

I, too, thought that the flame went out about 2/3 the way  up. Let's just hope that everyone stays safe and we don't get anything like Munich in '72.

Even if the flame did go out (and maybe it even did...couldn't tell) they would have some backup to light it up.

Wow, that was an awesome piece of work, and i think arrow makes everyone proud seeing their multitalented abilities.

Yea, you got it this is the infamous Token from the worlds greatest, KPU.
If only they would've said on TV who manufactured it. That would've been good publicity for Arrow and the rest of the coaster community.

if they did say Arrow Dynamics the 3 bill watching wouldnt have known that they make coasters and the like... unless they also note that they make coasters and have like 800 corkscrew coasters everywhere ;P lol

The Salt Lake Olympic Commitee wanted the Flame to appear like it was going to go out, before reaching the Cauldron. They wanted everyone watching to think it was going out, and when it did light the Cauldron, it lit the fire within. Like the Slogan of the 2002 games, "Light the Fire Within," thats exactly what happened.

Very nice job by Arrow! :)

Have you ever considered that maybe it's not the park that's the problem, but YOU?
Getting the flame to climb the tower would be simple enough...all it would really require would be a long fuse: fuel held in place along the center column which requires a few seconds to ignite and will burn for a few seconds. The kind of stuff that Morton-Thoikol stuffs into tubes for NASA would do the trick......

When in doubt, ask the company that built it. From Arrow:

"They had a 'slug' pulled up the middle of a perforated pipe that was fed with a flexible gas line.  We did the complete job, gas, water, air lines, etc.  It also uses propane mixed with the natural gas to give the flame color in the day.  There are about eight different pipes going up the center
of the truss."

There you have it.

Ridgestone, I also meant for them to say that they also do coasters. Normally in TV shows like that they give side notes here and there.
