These truly are my favorite Non-Rollercoaster rides out there. The power of the thrust behind these giant steel arms is really forceful and thrilling.

Just looking at Twizzlers Twisted Gravity makes me feel sick.

An S&S Swing is the perfect addition to Hersheypark. They are so much fun. I really like the size and placement. I love that they have been bringing in more candy themes to their new additions lately. Way to go, Hersheypark!

The power of the thrust

I’m a little confused as to the placement of the ride in the Hollow. It looks from the rendering that it’s on a platform, or the roof of an existing building. Which might justify the advertised claim of “World’s Tallest”. S&S offers a large 40 passenger ride that can be found at Cedar Point and Valleyfair, and I’ll assume at BGT and BGW, and Hershey’s is one of those. There’s no end of brand tie-ins there, natch, and the Twizzler-painted legs are an apt placement.
These rides are probably S&S’ 2nd most successful invention, right behind the Space Shot/Turbo Drop/Combo Towers, and they are still being added to major and smaller parks alike so good for them.
I rode CP’s again just last week and found it to be thrilling, high flying fun, ans usual. And very thrusty, although not in the jiggedy way.

The location in the rendering is kind of confusing, but if I recall during my visit earlier this year, there was construction in this area. At least I'm pretty sure I have that right, it was definitely along that embankment next to the creek near Sooperdooperlooper.

Vater, that’s basically the idea, but they tore down the old theater so that entire hillside up to the food court is being utilized for the ride.

Also, what’s up with all the awful ride names for 2025?

Ah yes, now it makes better sense, thanks Mr Vater. In the rendering the Coal Cracker building is visible and I stupidly mistook it for a carousel. And the proximity to Great Bear is evident. And PhantomTails, the hillside location makes sense too, as the rendering shows at least one side of the platform raised as if uphill. I once saw a really terrible show in that theater, so buh bye.
Hershey knows how to pack rides in, and I don’t visit that park enough to really care about it, but I like to know how parks change over time. I wonder what happened to the space where the Whip ride sat. That would be a good place for something of this size too.

Ah, ok…I couldn’t remember if the theater was there or not, I just remember peeking through the construction fence to see what was going on.

^^ RCMAC they use the whip building for a Halloween haunt.

I don't like all the names they're choosing but they've been making great additions. This is another of those. Looking forward to riding.

At Hersheypark, it’s not just 2025. They have decided to go all in on naming all their new attractions after their low-quality candy. This is just one of many bad names for rides there

Yeah, the ride names are way better at Godivaland and Worlds of Lindt.

The following is not intended to be a complaint. I trust the team at HP.

But…

Seeing pictures of that amphitheater being demolished has been sad. I lived in the Hershey area for just four years in the late 90s and held on to a season pass for a few more years after I moved away but I spent a lot of Sunday evenings in that amphitheater. The park used to have a Sunday concert series there featuring nationally known artists including primarily either acts from the 60s and 70s or young country acts.

Concerts were included with park admission and there was quite a group of people that had passes just for the concerts. Frequently I’d see someone show up and not even know who was performing. They just showed up because it was Sunday. That meant that the audience was a mix of regulars like that, people that were at the park anyway and decided to go to the concert and then about half or so would be actual fans of the act that came specifically to see them. It was fun.

I was fortunate enough to see a wide range of acts from Faith Hill and Rascal Flatts before they made it big to childhood favorites Tony Orlando and Captain & Tennille to legends like Chubby Checker and Little Richard. Some of my favorite concerts were for acts I was only casually familiar with and ended up blowing me away. The Spinners and George Benson come to mind on that end.

Oh for the good old days, I guess

Are we talking about the same theater? I thought this was replacing the one where the seals were. Isn't the big amphitheater on the other side of the park, or am I misremembering?

Hi

This is the old amphitheater where they did the oldies show or had live bands. I actually saw Joan Jett there before she had her resurgence to opening act on real tours. I didn't know she was playing there until I walked by and saw the sign saying she was there. I thought no way but hell yeah.

Watch the tram car please....

I can think of a handful of amusement park amphitheaters that have been put to rest. Show business being what it is these days (über-expensive) makes it near impossible to feature a season full of entertainment, especially free to patrons. We used to drive down to KI for concerts all the time but now that big space hosts special events like cheerleading, HS bands, and Christian weekends. It’s just not viable anymore.

I curious to see if it worked out for Carowinds… We shall se if back next season.

I always thought CP should of done this in the old ballroom, esp with all the talent in Detroit. Also bring back roller skating, and maybe add in karaoke, and put vintage arcade machines down the sides, cause there are a-lot if guest staying overnight and still not much after-hours in Sandusky.

Before 2020 Hersheypark had some of the best quality theme park shows. Unfortunately they have complet scrapped their live entertainment down to one corny character based show.

They not only tore down this amphitheater, but they remove the stage from the pavilion along the creek in Pioneer frontier as well as removing the stage beside the Chick-fil-A. The only show venue they have left now is the music box theater.

I hate seeing a park, especially one that like Hershey the cater to everyone go strictly the thrill route it limits their target market

And yet the place is mobbed every time I'm there. Weird.
