Hershey 04 - Let's see who is right

I'm staying with my speculation that its a B&M dive machine so that in the one billionth of a chance that i'm right(YES I made that statistic up!) you all have to bow down and do an act of obesance(sp?) to me. Ha!

FACT: It might be from Intamin, B&M or another ride manufacturer.

Told ya so in advance.

It's the world's first interactive Virginia Reel, "Texas Cowboy Puke Busters," and will cost the park an estimated $85M to build.

Actually, it's gonna be called 'The Best Little WhirlHouse in Texas'.

I won't hazard a coaster type, but I'll guess a name: Stampede. Maybe I'm not the first to point this out (I haven't read all these threads carefully), but Hershey's webside says: "GET READY TO START THE STAMPEDE," then says to check back on 8/4 at high noon. "Stampede" seems like a carefully chosen, slightly odd word to use there, and since it's in their Old West area....
B&M FLYER

never met a coaster I didn't ride (except Junior Geminii) :(

I think the Flyer makes sense for Hershey, but doesn't seem to go along with the whole 'Stampede' angle of that e-mail.

Maybe I'm not imaginative enough, but I can't figure out a 'western theme for a Flyer.

Any ideas?

I read this about 10 minutes ago and am still laughing. Hey CO, we need to let the folks at VisionLand know about this so they can get one too...

Just the facts maam, and assumming that the published ground plan is correct.

1) It won't be a conventional hyper because:

2) It will have an inversion.

3) It will be steel, because I can't believe that they will do an inversion on a woodie. (Yea, I know it's been done once.) (but, only once.)

It is distinctly possible it wont have an inversion....(we will find out exactly in only 12 days anyway).

If it is an Intamin it could easily have a spiral drop that twists in and under itself. Top Thrill Dragster is an example that this can be done. As well as Expedition GE Force.

I am not ruling out a launched coaster at all. Though I suspect a more traditional hyper coaster would be a better fit in my opinion. But they may fool me yet.

I suspect a flyer it is not though it quite clearly could be based on the layout we have seen....that is if that layout is at all accurate even though it was in First Drop magazine.

Assuming Stampede is the name, or part of the name, I would throw out a flying coaster. I picture feet and hooves with a stampede, not flying.

Assuming the sketch is very close or exact, you can probably throw out a hyper coaster. The layout is extremly small and would offer very little ability for long airtime filled drops. A TA2K can also be thrown out because of the quick turn. I would also throw out anything with a large amount, or any, inversions. If the twist thingy is an inversion, I would expect to see more indications of inversions in the layout.

I personaly wouldn't think a rocket coaster would be added just because of how many problems have been occuring, with the current two. That is however all I can see logicaly fitting in the area.

But that is just me and whatever.

I heard from a friend who knows someone who packages Hershey bars told his sons frieds girlfreinds wife that it will be like a stand up Til A Whirl that spalshes through a pool of some type of hersheys product made from on site cows! Ok I had to say something stupid. I wont guess what type of ride it will be, but I know it will be something worth visiting the already great park for.
I'm going to change my bet from looping log flume to Intamin Flyer.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Just remember that Hershey is a family park so whatever they put in will have to appeal to the family. There don't appear to be any inversions in the ride so I rule out flying, floorless and the like. Also the layout appears to be to small for a traditional hyper or mega coaster. I say it will be a small Intamin seated launch coaster with a top speed of 65 mph and a maximum height of 150 feet.

I don't really understand all this specualtion from the ride layout. Am I missing something or did that layout look like a giant circle? It didn't even look like a coaster IMO. Can someone explain the layout to me?

If it is launched, it might go something like this:

Straight out of the station into launch

Straight up a tower (195ft?) over the top and down with a 90 degree turn on the way down

Down into the ravine and back up another smaller tower

Inverts at the top of the tower (like Chiller) and spirals down (or something like that)

Meanders it's way back to the station.

At least that's how I have imagined it according to the layout (If it's a launched coaster). I really don't think of HP as the park with just tame, family rides. Some of those rides are very thrilling. A launched coaster could be the parks signature coaster, imho.

There seems there are a lot of people around here claiming to know what the park is getting, and they're divided into two camps: Intamin rocket or hyper, or B&M hyper, flyer, or floorless.

Wouldn't that be 5 different camps?

Besides, I know a few people that are 100% sure it's a rocket, and a few that are 100% sure that it's a flyer... leaving me to wonder which company came up with the flying rocket coaster *scratches head*

This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time.

Oops. I thought about it. Maybe they might be getting a new wooden coaster? Out and back twister layout. However 195ft is high for a woodie, you never know.
