Okay, this is too much. Stand back....
FIRST OF ALL, there's no proof out there besides the usual "he said, she said" lame stories regarding Six Flags' mishandling of marine wildlife. First of all, wouldn't ya think that this would have made headlines in papers, hmmm? Second of all, MANY of the former Sea World employees remained at Six Flags, ensuring continuity of care. And mostly, why would a corporate entity like Six Flags risk the advancement of the wildlife "angle" at Worlds of Adventure or any of their other parks? There are agencies that patrol these kinds of things, you know.
Not that I am in favor of captive wildlife, mind you. I do not agree with the capture of wildlife so that cheap, penny ante entities can profit off of the animals. But I really doubt this is what Six Flags is doing - many animals that are born in captivity just might have a chance at Sea World, Marine World, or even Six Flags. Until there's proof out there that Six Flags has mistreated wildlife, then all of this insane ranting is pointless and futile. But then again certain people don't have anything to do with their time.
And with regards to the fact that Six Flags might have bit off more than they could chew, that's preposterous, too. I thought their park was great - it suffers from overcrowding like any other park. I think that they will iron out their weak points (overlooked trash cans, overcrowded restaurants, and too few mechanics) with time. I really think they have a great vision for the place and I can't believe a large entity like Six Flags would put this in jeopardy by being cruel to animals.
Uh-uh. I might buy the "Top Spin" idea at PKI in a moment of weakness, but not this. Sorry!
Well I could really go off right now but I'll remain cool.
Until you have any proof (I mean news stories...links something) that animals were killed and that they were not being treated right then I will believe you.
Second...I went to Sea World when it WAS Sea World and I went to SFWoA last year...there is no difference in the state of the way the animals are living. Another thing is SFWoA did not fire any of the employees that Busch had working for them at the time that they purchased Sea World...so how could they not know how to take care of them?
Also for them to get the permits to obtain these animals you don't just apply and they give them to you...you must be able to take care of them. I'm really sick of hearing that they don't know how to take care of their animals...everytime I went (which was about once a week) they animals looked perfectly healthy. The people running the attraction knew about the animals and were informing us on them everytime we went.
You guys act like SF just went and bought the Sea World side and now they have people who had recently run Batman taking care of the health of the dolphins...they have SPECIALISTS doing that. If there was a real problem then they would not be running the park.
Another thing that everybody seems to complain about on here...the park is not dirty and the customer service is not that bad. Sure they have things to work on but no other park was perfect in 3 years...it's not going to happen here.
I went to the park over 20+ times last year and I had a GREAT time everytime. Why? Cuz I don't go into the park with a neg. mind frame getting ready to ***** about how there is a piece of paper on the ground here, and that employee looks mean. I go to HAVE FUN...I don't go to the park to COMPLAIN like most people on here.
Most people on here when they call themselves "Enthusiast" they think that they are now too good for anything under perfect and they usually go to the park with the mind that I am gonna rate everything about the park.
That is why I don't consider myself an Enthusiast...I consider myself a FAN of the amusement park business. I have fun at every park I am at and I always have a good time. I go into the park ready to have as much fun as possible. You people go into the park ready to bitch about everything and make yourself have a bad time...that's the thing I don't get.
I guess I am just happy I KNOW HOW to have a good time and enjoy a park like it is supposed to be enjoyed. Enthusiasts are arrogant and pig-headed...
"I'm a coaster enthusiast so I know how the park should be managed, how the employees should do their job, how they should manage the trash, keep the animals healthy. Did I forget to mention I am a marine biologist that also knows everything that it takes to build and maintain a rollercoaster? I know cuz I go to a park about once a year and bitch about the experience."
Gimme a break...you people seriously need some help in "Fun Management Skills" or maybe your just bitter for un-spoken of reasons in your personal life...:)

Something to consider, since SF took over SFMW, ALL the killer whales and an elephant have died. Coincidence? Or just bad luck?
The whale stadium has sat idle the past few seasons. I personally would rather SF didn't bring in new whales for human amusement. Instead, rip out the stadium and put in new rides and coasters, a much better and more humane form of entertainment. Ditto for SFWOA. If anyone really wants to see killer whales, they can visit Alaska or Canada instead and see them in their natural habitat.

Well, I am not an enthusiast. I have past experience at several different parks...much of it full time at parks that are mentioned on this site regularly and I have maintained friendships. I am not going to get in a spitting match over proof. You want me to bring a dead carcass to your doorstep in order for you to believe and no, I can't do that.
I am done talking about this subject. Good park, bad management, shouldn't be granted approval for whales.
Sorry about the spelling in my previous post.
Does anybody else realize that just about any topic about this subject and many others relating to WoA either on this site or ones like danimation, may start out talking about one thing, but end up becoming WoA bash topics? doesen't this kinda speak for itself?
Or, with the help of Michael Jackson, some young boy could go the route of a popular childrens movie.
Have the whales hop into Geauga Lake! I know they'd be perfectly happy living there. Not to mention the new floating bridge would be quite the elegant place to have a "Splash Zone."
Edit: I forgot to add that the Orca's would be perfect to incorporate into the "Batman Thrill Spectacular!"
