Either way, it's still the most accurate count available.
Realistically though, you have to wonder how long they'll try to push forward with this.
I predict they will keep selling tokens all summer and make them valid for admission discounts next year if they can't get the park open for 2007.
A person on another site said they plan on opening in stages. Like the Hotel first, Camperland second, Kiddieland third and move toward the major rides. Hotel first due to Proms and the fact that it's about the only thing ready to open. I hope they keep the restaurant closed though, starting off losing 2k a day wouldn't be good.

Considering sales of the tokens have been slow, I'd rather see the sales continue while a nice amount of money is saved to get the park open next year. At this point, it doesn't make sense to spend all the money that has been made to reopen the park for half a season, especially if only part of the park can be opened with the money that's available. If the same problem is going to happen next winter, why not use the money to get the park up and running for 2008 and really make a serious effort to get everything in order, possibly even working on getting some of that debt paid?
I want to see the park open, but I'm going to jump to the other side of the fence just once, put my emotions aside and push for a smart business decision to be made. I actually think that trying to open this year is going to do more harm than good.
This late in the game, I, too, have mixed feelings on this.
I think they may be looking at this way: If we open at least a little, we'll have the chance to make something. If we don't open at all, we're not bringing in anything and our debt will grow larger.
If they don't open, imagine how cheap the room rates will go for around the park. That and cabin rental prices will drop like a stone.

I'm not in favor of any amusement park failing to open, but at this point it seems like it might make sense in this particular instance. I'm just thinking of the greater good, and pulling strings to get the place opened for just a few months might not be the best idea. But maybe there's stuff that I'm missing?
As far as liability coverage, i wouldn't want people any where near there without it. The property isn't closed off from the public like other parks.

This park should have closed many many years ago and still it forges ahead. I am cautiously optimistic that despite the shortfalls this park will survive. I have and will continue to what I can to help out.
It sure would be nice for the Rendell Administration to provide some economic development funds for the Park. If they can dump 10 Million into a hunting museum in Tionesta then 100-250,000 for Conneaut certainly is a prudent investment of taxpayer resources.
