Have $1Mill...Want a TOGO?

That is definantly King Cobra at Paramount`s Kings Island.  My one concern is that PKI just painted it in `99.  Why would they have spen the money to paint it if they knew that they would be selling it in a few years.  What else would they build on that amount of land anyway, Adventure Express and Son of Beast are right behind it.  Unless, PKI plans an expansion in Oktober fest and having two entrances to the Paramount Action Zone.  I`ll only believe King Cobra is gone when it doesn`t open next year or is gone from the spot it has resided in since 1984.

I hope PKD gets rid of Shockwave, that ride is terrible.

Well, I do really like King Cobra, and I really wouldnt want to see it go, but I think PKI has had a heck of a lot of trouble with it lately.

Its down every now and then and hasen't been getting its high numbers for a while since the PKD accident .....and then they placed those horrible seatbelts on it.

I would hate to see it go, it has been a staple at PKI for so many years.  It kindof stood for what PKI is about...innovative new rides...and when it opend in 1984 it was just that.  I don't belive that they will get rid of it until I see that it is actually gone....but I do understand that sometimes you just have to let some things go.

I wonder if the price includes instalation :)

While I think that some parks would really appreciate having King Cobra, there is this really small park that is just being developed... called My backyard, which could use a stand up to go along with the B&M hyper.:)
You know a little PKI ride op birdie mentioned something about this right here a week or so ago...

I seem to recall many Doubting Thomases ;-)

I'm kind of sad.  KC was my favorite standup.  Oh well, there's always it's clone at PCW.

Shaggy

Shaggy, if this is removed, do you know when and if it will be replaced by something? It seems that a nice Huss Giant ride or two could fit there and I'm sure there's something planned, but any ideas? Thanks.

PKI 2002- "The Rollercoast is Toast!"

flightoffear29withinblocks,

Your post was exactly what I was commenting on.  However, in that post I believe you said that it had been sold.  Apparently there are no buyers quite yet :-)

If the ride is gone soon, here's hoping something wonderful gets planned for it's spot.

Shaggy

I always thought that KC had more airtime then anything else in the park. I would hate to see it go as well; but, alas, all things must pass...

Take my word for it... Windjammer isn't for sale!
It may have been on sale at one point, but certainly not anymore!

Knotts 2002...ready when you are!
I'm aware of that. I wonder if Knott's mentioned that they decided to just rip it down. Kind of funny because the broker is still trying to sell it.

This would be a good one for parks like Holiday World and Big Cheif's to get into steel coasters. Just under $2mil.

Anyone ridden one of these mini loopers ? Are they any good ? It looks nice, although small.

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) Timber Wolf
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze

I've heard that KC was going to be sold every year since around '97. I hope it desn't go because it fits well into KI's variety of coasters. Every coaster is different at KI, but KC has been having maintence issues with the ride. I had to be removed from the holding brake a while ago on Proctor and Gamble day, and it seems to be parked on the hill a lot. KI could remove KC and the Go-Karts next to KC and open up quite a bit of land. Hopefully bigger and better things are to come. Remember: from the Bat came Vortex.
Cool Togo Caosters where they belong, For Sale... Anyone out there remember a while ago we saw Drachen Fire for sale... What is going on with that thing?

Aughhh look out there are Mice all around
I can't believe it.  The rumors are finally true (sniff, sniff).  KC is a great ride and even though it might have some maintenence issues it doesn't make sense to remove it.  It is a popular ride that takes up very little land and is boxed in on all sides.  You'd think that PKI could redo the brake systems and get newer, less troublesome seats.  Does anyone know if that's even possible or how hard it would be for them to do?

I hope that KC stays at least for the 2002 season.  I wonder what they'll put in that spot to replace it?  If they decide on a coaster, it would have to be small (maybe this would have been a better location for TR:TR so that a coaster could go back in the woods where KCKC used to be)

SfdlDude:

Yeah, I know that KC doesn't have 'seats.'  I meant new restraints or trains.

If you, a private buyer bought the ride you could make a nice hobby outta fixing it up (like some people do with their cars) Youd probably be able to do whatever you wanted with it. Make custom restraints and what not.
