Greezed lightning update.

I found some pictures of the status of greezed lightning at joyland park.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It is nice to see that this Schwarzkopf isn't going to be scrapped.
Does anyone know how much they forked over for it? I can't imagine it was that much...
Very glad Joyland purchased this coaster. It is a gem and as was stated on Joyland's website: a 42" height requirement means a family style thrill ride.

Kind of surprised SF didn't hold on to this coaster and move it to another park.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

I love seeing other smaller parks purchasing these rides and preventing them from being dismantled and thrown away. These shuttle loopers are always great rides and will be a great addition to the park.

It went to another small park in Texas. Do a search and you will find it.

Interesting about Wonderland, they must not update their site much..

Does anyone have any opinion on XLR8 being scrapped? Never went to AW, was it a good coaster?
I would've imagined theyd've put it somewhere else as Arrow Suspendeds seem to be great family coasters and they are rare to find.

I think it sucks that it was scrapped. new colors looked so nice... :)

Ride count on the Voyage: 40 Most consecutive rides on the Voyage: 36 Day after thigh bruises from airtime: Priceless

XLR-8 was pretty lame, even going backward, and I'm a fan of the Arrow suspendeds. I'm glad I got to ride it once, but am much more saddened by the loss of Viper and Texas Cyclone.

Mindbender went to Wonderland... http://www.rcdb.com/id48.htm

Texas Cyclone? Tearing that to pieces was an absolute unmitigated TRAGEDY. Only LeSourdsville's Eagle, among woodies I've ridden, will I miss as much....

On the positive side, an Anton saved at this point IS an Anton EARNED... :)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Any word on what the new name will be for the ride(s)?

Yes I've heard Cyclone was a good ride but AW's version was extremely unsafe. Although I never rode it so I probably shouldn't be talking. That's just what I heard..

They did save a piece of the Texas cyclone for some reason.

The Texas Cyclone was only mildly unsafe if you you didn't follow the warnings and raised your arms durring the ride.

That is quite random.

Raising them was fine, it was side clearances. People who reached out to the side and tried to grab supports sometimes got them.

One of the reasons why it would have bene difficult to relocate the Cyclone to another park in the chain. A lot of structure would have had to been changed.
It didn't meet current ASTM specs for ride envelope clearances. Once it was dismantled it was no longer grandfathered. Whoever would have wound up with it would essentially have to build a new coaster, from a new set of plans.
