Greezed Lightining at SFKK

I rode V2 this season and barely fit in and after I got off the ride I knew that I had to ride WT so I know it is well worth the effort.

I had no problem with either S:UE or V2, but could not get the belt to attach on WT. I was 'this close,' but it wouldn't give, as those belts are *very* short.

Anyone know how Volcano's restraints compare to the impulses?

I've got to get to the "Texas three-step" to get that last Anton shuttle....but if Titan is half as good as Goliath, it'll be worth the trip. Sorry I'm too late for Taz, and that most of the TX wood has been somewhat emasculated, but any Anton is a must-ride, and if GL is anything like Monte, I'll need to get a room right near the park....

We *know* that GL is named after/because of the TX ride, but I *still* think it's cool to have Thunder and Lightning nearby in the same park...(now at TWO parks)...weather phenomena must make for GOOD coasters....:)

Bill: The only coaster that comes to mind right now that relates to weather is "Mr. Freeze"

Chicago saw a low of 9 degrees this morning. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! :)

Mr. Freeze is no joke. I had my space heater cranked, the thermostat cranked, and my flannel PJs on, and I was still cold when I woke up this morning!

We don't even want to hear it gator, Bass, and Moosh. We know it's nice out where you live. ;)

chris,
Never being anywhere near an impulse, really, but riding Volcano dozens of times, I can say that larger people fit. Not only is there a long belt/ extra clip on the seat for the belt, but some of the seats have what I'll call a cage around the seat, like a black bar thingy(hard to describe, easy to see in my head), some don't. It alternates back & forth down the trains, one per row. I always sit in a barred up seat 'cause of the wicked final twist making me nervous(even though I know I won't fall out, last twist is slow), but I would guess the seats without them are better for larger guests(?).

As for the shuttle, just call it 'THE Shuttle', 'cause that's what it is;).......

I've heard of being excited to ride a coaster, but perhaps you were a wee bit too excited?

I have never ben on Mr. Freeze, but I about froze my nads off this morning when I woke up. Being only 44 miles from Chicago, I'm right on the lakefront of Lake Michigan. Geez it was ccccold! I'm sooo happy my beloved Tidal Wave is making a comeback to the North! This ride is so much fun! When it was at Great America in Gurnee, the "pusher" was called "Little Oscar". It had the name right on the pusher. Does anyone know what other names it had if any?

I even tried thinking about dead puppies, but that didn't help any.

LOL, 'Moosh....lucky for me, X didn't have that type of restraint...

Other weather-related names: Tornado, Linear Gale, Hurricane, Windstorm, Cyclone, Typhoon, Twister, WindJammer, Whirlwind....feel free to add...

For press release and pictures from the press conference go to this site http://www.themeparkadventure.com/.

Unrelated to SFKK, this is the only site I have ever seen have Scooby-Doo! Ghostblasters... pictures from SFSL.

Good thing you weren't thinking about M:TR...you wouldn't have been able to ride SUE or V2 ;)

You guys are way off on why they named it Greezed Lightning. There is already a Schwarzkopf shuttle loop at SF Astroworld named Greezed Lightning. In typical Six Flags fashion, they're reusing the name and probably logo so they can use the same merchandise and promo material. Now, how much GL merchandise SFAW acutally sells is beyond me, but they've done it before with B:TR, S:UF, Viper, etc.

Yeah, but why do you think they named the one in Astroworld Greezed Lightin' in the first place? And why do you think they decided to use that name, instead of some other name they already use too many times (heck, they could have just kept the Viper theme for that!)? I stand by what I said in terms of why they named it.

...or perhaps a cold, refreshing water ride?

Where I'm at, I don't even want to THINK about a water ride...my SoCal *sources* indicate you're still in good weather though...

What were you saying about *stalkers* again...;)

Why didnt they just call it a shuttle, it's as if they know it isnt a great coaster.

Well, they could have named it Shuttle I guess, and start naming other rides Coaster and while you're in line at Park why not enjoy a refreshing Drink?
