Greezed Lightnin' will leave you breathless as you blast out of the coaster station like a bolt of lightning, going from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than six seconds. You won't have time to scream before you zoom through the 76-foot-tall loop, and are sent soaring up the 142-foot incline at a 70-degree angle. Just as you think the ride is over, the coaster plunges backwards down the incline and back through the loop in 35 seconds. You continue your exhilarating streak until you climb up the tail of the ride, and glide safely back in the station.
Greezed Lightnin' joins Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom's thrilling coaster lineup, increasing the park's coaster count to an impressive eight. The coaster is expected to open to the public in Spring 2003. Greezed Lightnin' will be located on the front side of the park, near the Road Runner Express roller coaster. Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom will open for the 2003 season on Saturday, April 5th.
Looks like my plans are final. Looks like i'll be getting to ride Viper/Tidal Wave/Greezed Lighnin next year. I still think they should have kept the Viper theme and redid it up like SFoG had...
BTW: When did SFKK announce this...

The official announcement was 11AM Wednesday December 4th at the Excutive Hotel. The announcement was supposed to take place at the park, but plans changed at the last minute. Must of has something to do with the forecast of snow.
The official announcement was short and sweet, with video animation of the ride and a large concept drawing of the coaster layout unveiled. I kept trying to talk them into loading the drawing into the back of my van. No luck!
I'm very excited that this wonderful coaster has found new life at SFKK

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone/B:TDK
I might have a chance to ride an actual Schwarzkopf shuttle loop! Woo Hoo! They took the Laser Loop at Kennywood out when I was only 3, so I never had a chance to ride it. I don't know why they didn't call it Viper-Wave-Lightning?

Well Carol, at least you tried...;). I've said from the beginnning (well, actually the closing...at SfoG) that it was the perfect addition for the park (KK) and with this name and the marketing prospects, I've never felt stronger about Viper's third ssstrike! Thunder and Lightning in KY...when do they get one of those (nauseating) Wisdom Tornadoes...:)
I had been planning on this being my first visit of the new season before any speculation of a new ride. This will certainly make the trip much more exciting. This is a great move by Kentucky Kingdom.
"Greezed" means greased Mike. Things move faster when they are greased. Lightning is really fast anyway so greezed lighting is even faster. I'm surprized that you didn't already understand.
Can't wait 'til the 5th of April.

Operation Wicked Twister - Goal: Lose 50 lbs by next season to ride it! (updates soon)
Even if they have it go through a tunnel it is still the same ride so its not another credit...unless they were to significantly alter the layout ala Steel Phantom/ Phantoms Revenge. I havent been on it in any of its lives yet so im glad I get to ride our ol' Tidal Wave finally!

what does "greezed" mean....I really dislike the name.-----------------
Haven't you seen Grease? The girls cream for Greezed Lightnin'.
I believe that "Greezed Lightning" is a cheap attempt by Six Flags to cash in on the public name-recognition of "Greased Lightnin'," a term most thouroughly copyrighted by Paramount, who produced "Grease," and distributes the sheet music for the song "Greased Lightnin'." In fact, the Former Tidal Wave at PGA is named "Greased Lightnin'!" The two sisters now have the same name again (more or less)!
P.S. Now that Viper/Wave won't suffice, what will we call this ride?

Waiting for 2003.
Visit PKI fans!
KTS...if your *instincts* say it's not another credit, then it's not....they MAY do a cool tunnel with lights (you know I would, lol), or add a sweet lighting package like Monte (another nice choice). Chances are, they'll pick option C and go with neither. Once we find out by riding it, you get to choose whether or not it's a different experience and whether YOU think it's another credit. There's no *rulebook*, no matter what you may be TOLD....;)
bill, who's trying to figure out what to do with these recent fairground coasters, one of which was pretty good, a Zyklon at the Broward County Fair
BTW, how's Operation WT? The ride is WORTH it if that gives you any *extra* motivation...

Regarding the actual announcement: Anyone on the SF mailing list with KK as your homepark received an email last night regarding Greezed Lightning.
I really hope they theme it up (like rollergator mentioned). Both Blizzard River and Road Runner Express got some excellent theming, and I hope GL is no exception.

Bill, you are just trying to hijack yet another thread :). Actually I just started dieting again and have lost about 8 pounds thus far using Weight Watchers. I rode V2 this season and barely fit in and after I got off the ride I knew that I had to ride WT so I know it is well worth the effort. Thanks for asking.
BTW, I dont really care if I get the credit for the ride or not, I am just glad my beloved Tidal Wave is back. Ah the memories...
