" "We put a $4 million building around this dog ride and named it "Disaster Transport." I still remember on opening day a gentleman walked out of the ride and came over to me and said, 'You named that one right -- that's a disaster.' And you know what, he was right. That was by far the dumbest thing I ever did." "
Forced to wonder how much of this "dressing up the dog" idea came to mind when CF decided to *fix* Sonny....
Nice outfit though... ;)
P.S. I really do HOPE that Son of Beast becomes a much better ride...knowing what we now know (i.e., trains), I seriously doubt that will come to pass.....
I don't know, for me personally, it would be between Cedar Creek Mine Ride & Mantis. They both absolutely tear my back and neck to pieces. Disaster Transport, while a bad idea from the beginning, has it's own bit of charm (in a totally weird way). Plus, since I have younger children I have to ride it quite often.
I actually thought Disaster Transport was ok when it opened. The queue was well done and interesting, and the ride was "unique" for CP. Granted it was no Space Mountain, but I thought it was nice.
What makes Disaster Transport an abomination now is the fact that Cedar Point let it fall to pieces. They haven't kept the theming up at ALL and the queue is just an embarrassment to the park. I refuse to let any Cedar Point "newbies" go on that ride because it really makes the park look bad.
Its not a great ride if your into the big thrill coasters. But if you like coasters and not the mega ones, than DT is right up your alley.
Disaster transport is a great family ride.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
^No removing the Zambezi Zinger was by far the dumbest thing they did at Worlds of Fun. People are STILL pissed off about that and refuse to go to the park because of it.
