With only a few weeks left in the season, Six Flags Great America's second new coaster, Deja Vu will finally open. It is one of the three giant inverted boomerangs built by Vekoma for Six Flags. The other two reside at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Over Georgia.
Im there saturday! Man Im exited . I called SFGAm and they said today was media day and they were going to show it on Tv on ABC NBC CNC and the other Chicago Local stations at 5:00 or sometime like That! ----------------- Ready to launch!... Bzzzzzzzz...

I was one of the lucky folks to be part of the Media event today. I must say for those that have not been on it yet, GET OUT THERE AND RIDE IT! It is so AWSOME. The ride is very smooth, and a lot of fun.
I took it upon myself to call the park and talk to the Public Relations department asking about the event. I told them I was with ACE, and wondered if it would be possible to be part of the media event.
After a few days of wating, I heard back from them, with the news that I was allowed to go.
I did find out at the event that the ACE Regional Rep did make some phone calls himself asking ACE Members if they wanted to be a part of media day.
My guess is that SFGAm wanted X number of ACE people at the event, and told the regional rep to get them. Since I was allowed to go, I'm guessing that how ever many that was, they either did not get that number of ACE members, or I just got lucky. Again, that is a guess on my part, since I don't know how many ACE members were actually asked, how many showed up, etc.
In any case, I am very happy that I was allowed to be a part of such an exciting event. This is one great coaster, and I'm glad to live very close to it. If you have the chance to get out to SFGAm during the month of October (closing day is Sunday, October 28th) I highly suggest you ride Deja Vu.
In case anyone was wondering, I was able to get in 22 rides on Deja Vu today. I know of one ACE member that got in 26. The Media event was between the hours of 5 AM and 11:30 AM.

Is there a Fastlane... err... lane in the queue? And are there any expectations to allow the Fastlane on Deja Vu? ----------------- Loopscrew.com: Your brand new, and only, editorial based coaster site! 6/8/01
