GREAT AMERICA BUZZ .. Ragin Cajun Coaster to be replaced?

ENUFFZNUFF's avatar

There has been talk that the Ragin Cajun (Wild Mouse Coaster) is going to be taken down and replaced, so is 6 flags buying a coaster to put in?? I would assume that they are not building a new coaster, and What is to become of the Iron Wolf area?

Ragin Cajun is nowhere near where Iron Wolf was.

EDIT TO ADD - The O.P. changed his post to fix his glaring error stating that a new coaster could connect the two areas of Ragin Cajun and Iron Wolf, making my post seem out of context now.

SFStL needs another used coaster, so Ragin' Cajun is being moved there for the 2014 season. ; )

I still wouldn't put it past Dorney to end up with it somehow.

I remember pretty clearly when SFGAm built that stupid Mardi Gras area. I find it hard to believe they would tear it up so soon. I can see them letting the stuff sit dormant and gathering dust though, if necessary.

I dont think GA would tear down the Mardi Gras area, its just needs an update and its own true rollercoaster!

How is Ragin' Cajun NOT a TRUE roller coaster? It's a lot less painful than some of the wild mouse coasters I've been on. On the trip I took to GrAm in 2005 the group I was with all saw the Mardi Gras section as just an extension of Orleans Square, not its own separate area. Nothing amazing, but definitely not deserving retheming or removal after only 9 years of existence.

I've had a few truly amazing rides on Ragin' Cajun, and would miss it if it were to leave...

The only SF park that comes directly to mind as *lacking* a mouse coaster....Great Escape.

I think the real story here is that there's apparently still an Enuff Z'Nuff fanbase out there, somewhere.

I think if they do remove Ragin Cajun, they could replace it with a ride similar to Green Lattern at Magic Mountain, and transform the Mardi Gras section into a super hero theme. As they already have the Superman Ultimate Flight and Batman the ride in that area. Another possible replacement would be a ride like the Superman ride at SFDK. It has a small enough footprint to fit in Ragin Cajun's spot. Add the Dark Night ride, and you have a super hero fest.

As for The Iron Wolf area. The park could really use a wooden coaster. I could see them building a decent wooden twister there. If not, it would also be a good location for a ride like Maverick, or one similar to Mystery Mine at Dollywood. Or, even a Full Throttle type ride. It would not be too hard to come up with a western themed coaster for that area.

But, since they invested heavily in the construction of X-flight, I don't think we'll be seeing a shiny new coaster there next year. If we do, it won't be anything spectacular.

I didn't do it! I swear!!

Neither of which are in Mardi Gras.

So American Eagle, Viper, and Little Dipper aren't good enough?

Lots of EnuFF ZnuFF Fans!!

Viper is in the top 100 coasters, but I agree, a Hyper-Wooden Coaster would be awesome, or a tunneled coaster.

Ragin Cajun and the Demon are my two least favorite coaster rides, so both could use updating along with the Iron Wolf area, There are still alot of good coasters in the market, The Time Machine/Led Zepplin the ride in South Carolina would be a good purchase.

I'd love to see this. Maybe they can take Superman Ultimate Fluff while they're at it.

The trick was to surrender to the flow.

I remember the Bobsled ride at 6Flags Magic Mountain, it was lame, and from the views of Knoebles flyer it doesnt look much better.

I've ridden the bobsled at SFoT (the Sarajevo Bobsleds from SFMM) and I thought it was a great ride. One of the things I'm really looking forward to riding on the Labor Day Texas Trek...
