I used to be *such* a beer snob, too. I've just really been into PBR and Old Style lately.

One thing I gotta say FOR "Lost Wages"....Coronas are everywhere, flowing like water...well, it IS a desert, maybe more like tumbleweeds...;).

As for Puyallup, it just seems extra weird to me to have a wooden coaster (of some reputation, no less) that sits idle for some 348 days a year...the fair calendar shows all kinds of "events", but I guess the RIDES are only open those 17 days....

And as for the slingshot, after the BIG one in Kissimmee, I'm good for those for now....but a Skyscraper, now THAT is a whole other story...:)

I can't remember if you have DONE a skyscraper, Bill.... If not, allow me to be the first one to ride with you. Chris had a big NO GO for me on that one...;)

The only Skyscraper so far for me is the Katanga at the mini-golf across from IoA...But from what I hear, the GravityWorks may be getting a run for their money from the Zamperla Turbo Force....

So far, I've been on one slingshot, one skycoaster, and one skyscraper....the scraper was the clear winner....I only want the Kissimmee skycoaster ONCE, just to conquer the fear...:)

It just makes that credit all the more special, gator. I think the fair's open for a weekend in April, too.

Unfortunately, Playland doesn't open until the following weekend, or I'd be there for it.

Oh yes, I am a wuss. :)

Chris, you aren't a wuss! You are "open-air, vertically challenged." Face down, 200ft in the air, tumbling and turning, with nothing under you but death? :) Ah... mercy, me! *Sounds like X!*

Nothing wrong with a little PBR. Of course I spent last night throwing down some Natural Ice though! Gotta love the college years! :)

Here are some answers to some questions about the Puyallup fair.

Kersplash was built by Miler Coaster,Inc.,a small coaster manufacturer based here in Portland,Oregon.Nasai,Chris and "gator, let me know when you plan on coming to PDX,I may be able to arrange a tour of Milers' facilities.

Coaster TR at Puyallup is available to rent during the off season when the fair is not operating. For how much,I don't know. You would contact the fair at www.thefair.com.

Puyallup's Coaster...for rent? Cool! If its reasonable, and we have enough people, perhaps we can work that into CAC in 2003?

Moosh - definitely going to CAC no matter what!

Roller Coaster & Amusement Park Christmas cards, clothing, and products - now available at S&D Greetings http://www.negative-g.net/sdgreetings

If it really is possible to get Coaster running for the right price, I'd be interested in a CAC group.

I have heard, through hearsay I might add, that the rental price is near $500 dollars for one "rental period." I don't know if that means a few hours, or a day. I would imagine it would be something like 4 hours.. You could, easily, ride Coaster:TR for a 4 hour period. Fun, very floaty, and smooth. We should pursue this, guys!

Check out the new mixes!

$500? That's nothing for a small group of dedicated enthusiasts, although I suppose you'd be missing out on all the flats and whatnot.

Hmmm...

What is CAC?

I'd be down. A C:TR rental and the new EV woodie could make a nice CAC 'bonus day.' If I remeber correctly, the two are very close to each other.

CAC is Coaster Alley Convergence, an enthusiast event at Silverwood. Its in August in 2003...can't remember the dates off the top of my head, tho.

Hey, we'd *definitely* be interested in that....any chance of getting "the fair" to rent us out their other coasters for just a lap or two?

edit: Ron, the Miler tour would be a BIG hit...:) BIG!

bill, who SOME call "the greediest credit ho on this side of the Mississippi"...;) The rest, they just call me late for dinner...

I could never be mistaken for a beer "snob". But in college, I *LOVED* Old Style. You just cant beat $2.99 for a six pack! I'm just so *pissed* that I cant find it out here in DC :(
