Funny thing Rob....tried to get the long-awaited first spin on PF again weekend before last, no luck! Down for seasonal rehab...:(. The "good news" however, is that I'd be at one more myself (210) if I could add that pitiful fairground coaster at the Carnival in Maryland....never been so prepared to "bail" on ANY coaster, lol. Good Times!

P.S. Kept trying to trim the pic, but this "smart computer" only wanted to take my face out....saving space my arse!

You guys make my track record look pathetic!;)I only have 29 in my track record. I guess that is what I get for living in coaster deficient Portland,Oregon. I did manage to ride every woodie in the Pacifc Northwest this year. Yep...all 4 of them! The PNE Coaster, both Silverwoodies, and the Puyallup Fair Coaster Thrill ride.Looks like the new woodie at EV/WW will be my next one.

RS Anderson - While I see your smiley, I want to make sure you or others aren't offended by what I said. We all start somewhere. Trust me, when you start travelling more, your track record will shoot up quicly. I certainly wasn't trying to make you or anyone feel bad, I was just being a smartass and teasing Rob and Bill as usual.

My opinion on coasters has no more importance than yours, and just because I've ridden more doesn't mean I know more about coasters, are a better person or enthusiast, or....whatever. My point is a track record doesn't mean ANYTHING but how many coasters you've been on.

Moosh - TGIF!!

Im personally not in it for a track record although I do like to get out and ride new coasters.

I am in it for the fun and friendship. If the fun and friendship is at my local parks then I am there, If I can get a trip together with my brother or friends then I try my best to make it happen. Sure, I could go to another park somewhere SRM weekend and get new coasters to me, WHY WOULD I??

Great people, great coasters and more fun than 50 coasters in one mega park that you could never ride in one day anyhow :)

Really, a high *count* means only that we're people with too much free time and too little responsibility.....good times!
Hey I'm the king of free time and irresponsibility, but my count is still pretty low. If I were the king of cash, things would be different. ;)

Moosh,

No offense taken by what you said,I was just putting in my two cents worth.

Living where I do makes it expensive to be a coaster enthusiast as riding a coaster always involves travel, other than Oaks Parks' Pinfari Looping Star.It doesn't take long for this one to get old.My preferences for coasters lean towards wood, and the closest regularly operating woodie to my home is the Vancouver PNE Coaster,300 miles north of my home.Thank God this is a great coaster!:) The Puyallup Fair coaster is closer, but it only operates during the fair.:(I hope to get south in the next few years and ride the Santa Cruz Dipper,Ghostrider, and Xcellerator.I dream of going to Cedar Point and Holiday World some day.RavenMaven, can you help me out?(just kidding:))

My wife said she might even ride the Santa Cruz Dipper with me just to take in the view of the Pacific Ocean. No way I will ever get her on the PNE Coaster, though.

RSA....what's UP with the Puyallup fair? Their dates seem wacky, not operating at all during August '03....not gonna go over too well to visit Silverwood, WW/EV and PNE without getting to the Fair...but I will FINALLY get to Canada. Grew up in Joisey, never been to New England OR Canada....some things WILL be rectified in '03...:)

Ron - Do you know how much it costs to rent Coaster: Thrill Ride?

Maybe gator can rent it out for his credit? ;)

but there's FOUR coasters at the Fair, right? Including an Anton! Coaster: Thrill Ride would be SWEET, but I want the whole Fair.....strangest "schedule" I've ever seen....???
And there's a powered kiddie coaster. Don't know if you count those or not.

IMO, "powered" does not equate with *Coasting*...oh, no, now I'm agreeing with TB....this CAN'T be a good sign....

*** This post was edited by rollergator on 11/1/2002. ***

I only count the ones powered by gravity. :-p

What's a TB?

chris - Reduced, reused, and recycled many, many brain cells last night.

TB=Trouble Boy, one of 'Moosh's many, MANY aliases....aliai(?)....;)

You mean there's the 4 on rcdb + a powered kiddie all at Puyallup? And one of the pics showed an S&S ride too...guess CAC isn't going to be the only trip to the Northwest, huh? I *know* you know what CAC is....;)

Oh, you are in trouble if you're agreeing with Moosh about your track record. ;)

I'm pretty sure the one on rcdb is powered, and not by gravity. I could be wrong, though. I drank a lot of PBR last night.

There is a weird water coaster at Puyallup called Kersplash that rcdb doesn't list, though.

There is an S&S tower, but it's run as an upcharge.

The Puyallup isn't on the WEIRD a schedule, Bill. It is a fair for God's sake.;) It runs the first weekend after Labor Day until the last full weekend of the month. Basically 17 days.... and worth every penny to go, if you like flats. Coaster: Thrill Ride is a great little Miller coaster, and a true classic, but you must ride the yellow train to get the most out of the ride. Hit the blue train like Chris and I did for a few, then hope to get lucky for the yellow, and the whole world will change. There is a Monster Mouse, and a Wildcat as well as the powered kiddie coaster, and the very weird (and mostly pointless) water coaster that you can eke a credit out of. They do have a ton of flats, though including the allmighty Frisbee, and a S&S tower (double shot), although both are sadly upcharge attractions from the all-day pass. They did have a SCAD tower this year, as well as a Zamperla Skyscraper. They did have an extra HUGE slingshot this year as well, but $25 to go up 250 ft for 20 seconds isn't my idea of money well spent, when you have done it before. Now.... if you paid for it....:)
